She succumbs to the darkness.
No recollection of what
occurred the previous night.
She reassures herself with the saying,
twas only a nightmare.
As a new morning dawns
there is some comfort.
There is no reason to be afraid.
The coming day will
wash away her residing fear.
As well as ridding her of the nightmare
she hopes will not reappear.
