Ash's POV
A few weeks have gone by ever since I came back from the Kalos Region. I gave it my all in the Kalos League, but at the end of the day, I came in second place. But this was a sign, though... It means that I was becoming stronger and I am one step closer to my goal.
After getting dressed, my partner, Pikachu, is still sleeping on my bed.

I walked over and shook him a little bit in hopes of waking him up.
"Come on, buddy. Time to get up."
Pikachu woke up, and as he did, he looked at me with a grin on his face.
"Pika pika!" He squeaked before jumping onto my shoulder.

"Hi buddy. Did you sleep good?" I asked as I gave him a small scratch on his head.
"Chuuuu!" That was his response, and I guess that means he did sleep good.
"That's good to know." I said. "Let's go downstairs and eat breakfast."
