Chapter 1 - A Contest Veteran

Location - Littleroot Town

Serena's POV

Finally, after travelling by sea for a while, I made it to Littleroot Town in the Hoenn Region. When I was told to check out Pokemon contests after my Kalos journey, I had to come here and check it out. It's now me, Braxien, Pancham and Sylveon.

I really do wished that Ash and the others were here with me, but unfortunately, everyone had their own paths they wish to follow, and I want to respect that. I'll do my best for both of them.

However, now that I actually made it to Hoenn, I don't even know what to do now... I guess I can see where I can find the nearest contest hall, but even I don't know where that is...

"*sigh* Maybe I should ask someone for help." I said to myself.

As I start to look around, I heard someone calling out to me.

"Hey you!"

I looked over to see who was calling out to me. It was a girl who looks like she could be the same age as me. She has brown hair and blue eyes. Along with her green bandana, she has black and white gloves, and her outfit has a nice black and orange theme going on.

"I've never seen you here before. Are you new?" She asked.

"Oh, yeah, I am new here." I answered, though I can't help but think that I have seen her somewhere before.

"I figured that was the case." She said and held out her hand for a handshake. "My name is May. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, May. My name is Serena."

I shook May's hand, and that's when it hit me. Now I know why she looks familiar...

"No way, you're the Princess of Hoenn!" I said as I start to get excited.

She was surprised when I said that out loud.

"I take it you've heard about me before?" She asked.

"That's right! A lot of people on the ferry mentioned you, they say that you were one of the four veterans when it comes to contests." I explained.

May was blushing with embarrassment.

"Being called the Princess of Hoenn is one thing, but a contest veteran?" She speaks. "I feel like that is just as embarrassing."

"Ah, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to say all of that!" I said in a panic.

May lets out chuckle as her blush clears up.

"Hey, don't apologize." She said. "I'm glad you heard so much about me."

"Well, that's good to know."

Now that we got passed the introductions and the shocking reveal, May changed the subject.

"So, Serena, what brings you here to the Hoenn Region?" She asked.

"Well, I came here from the Kalos Region to learn about Pokemon contests, but... it took me a while to realize I don't know where the closest one is." I said, and now, it was my turn to have an embarrassing blush on my face.

May let out a chuckle.

"Well, I know Slateport City is having a Pokemon contest soon." She said. "If you want, we can go there together."

I let out a sigh of relief, knowing that I won't have to travel by myself.

"I would like that very much. Thank you, May." I said with a smile.

"It's no problem, but before we go, is it okay if we make a pitstop?" She requests.

"A pitstop? Where to?" I asked as I blink in confusion.

"You'll see. Follow me."

May starts to walk away, and I began to follow her. Wherever she was going, I have no doubt that it is super important to her.
