Chapter 5 : Inconveniently Convenient

In the end, Y/n was included in the next expedition...

The girl who smacked the hell out of the dummies to 'vent' her stubbornness to prove her strength. No matter how Shadis scolded her about not destroying the entire thing, the girl would look at him dead in the eye while moving her hand slowly to the broken item. Like a cat looking at the human as they sat on top of the table facing a cup of glass, threatening to put it to it's demise with a single paw.

And so, that paw of a hand moved to the remains of the dummy to do her final bidding.

The earlier full sized three four or five meter titan dummy turned into chips and pieces with a single hit.

Levi watched the little sister annoy that loud commander with unobvious amusement almost proud but he wouldn't show it to the pipsqueak.

In the end, Shadis let out a long sigh and grumpily said: "Do what you want!" And walked out. Yes, she won the fight of disregarding status quo and superior orders. No matter how much he tried to tell her off, nothing works so the only options left is to just do her bidding.

He was tired, and one Y/n tantrum is enough for today.

Y/n who was behind him, raised her small fist looking proud of her mischief.

Isabel couldn't help but laugh. "This cutie, why would you do that?" She asked, hugging the little sister in her arms funnily.

"I'm causing trouble." Y/n nonchalantly replied.

When it comes to causing trouble, Y/n may look cute doing it, but if you're the direct party she was causing trouble for, it's a headache. This is why the trio made sure she wouldn't have a reason to make trouble with them if possible.

Y/n's nose scrunched up trying to push the older female without strength. She'd rather have headpats than strangling hugs.

Isabel hummed, grabbed the baby's cheeks and squished it. "So cute!"

"By the way, Y/n. I was able to get some berries for you while the horse and I were having rounds." Isabel immediately looked around her waist to search for her small satchel. As soon as she found it, she gave it to the young girl with a happy smile.

Y/n took it,  opening the small package and looked back up at Isabel. "Thank you..." Words like thank you hardly come by to her mouth before. But now, after becoming someone who has nothing and meeting these group of people who are in the same disposition as her, giving her things they should be having than giving it to her just to give her the best, Y/n learned to say that new word.(Me thinking that most of her friends and parental figures back then got some good money in the past.)

Isabel was happy to hear it. Although Y/n knows the word, but it rarely comes out of their youngest's lips.

To be honest, Y/n seems to be following Levi's footsteps more and more than they had expected.

Maybe someday she'd start spouting bad words too which worried Farlan and Isabel. Y/n is blunt, sure. But she doesn't curse. Not yet at least...

"Y/n, are you sleeping well these days?" Farland watched the little one snack on the berries quietly.

"Good." Not a quality sleep but nevertheless, it's good. Y/n mentally praised her very generous review despite it being a lie.

"Really? You always look tired so I couldn't tell whether you're satisfied or not."

"I'm not." The girl replied. There's nothing in this world that can satisfy a hungry Y/n than a chef that she'll have to wait for another few years.

Farlan couldn't help but sigh. He touched the girl's head and rubbed it lightly just as she wanted. "Tomorrow is going to be our first expedition." He reminded seriously. "Be extra more careful once we go out there, you understand?"
