Just The Two Of Us (Xiao x M!Reader)

I woke up on the tree branch alone and feeling kinda dirty, I went to my room and took a shower before heading off to explore the new Liyue.

It was very different, in a good way obviously but still different. That meant new chests and more things to find.

I got dressed and began my adventure. I honestly had no idea where I was going but I was likely gonna stumble along a few chests eventually. 

After just a few minutes, I killed some hilichurals and even some mitachurals for chests. I thankfully remembered to bring lots of food to heal, or else I likely would've been on the floor.

Even as a yaksha and strong adeptus, my body was still getting used to everything. My stamina and strength were at an all time low.

I unsheathed my (weapon) and ran towards a Hydro samachural, I was able to bloom it until it died but I needed to improve my physical strength since I cant always rely on my vision.

I found a nice big tree to practice on, I made a makeshift target and continued attacking it. I moved around and pretended to dodge attacks as well as attack.

I was lucky near a pond so I purified some of the water in my hands and took a break.

My hair clinged to my forehead as sweat covered my skin, it wasn't exactly a pleasant feeling but I JUST showered so I decided to train some more.

I ventured out quite a long way and couldn't tell where I was, I did see lots of chests in the place full of unmoving ruin guards which seemed to not work so I opened one of the chests.

I retrieved everything until suddenly I heard all the ruin guards activate, "oh shit.. uhm." My body was still weak and even sore from my little training session. I got my (weapon) out and started to attack the ruin guards.

I've never fought so many at one time so I was having some trouble, despite everything they turned around and aimed at me. 

I knew they were going to shoot their missiles but I didn't think there would be so many heading towards me so quickly. 

I was able to dodge the first few but were hit by the rest. My body stayed on the floor despite me and my spirit wanting to get back up and I tried forcing myself up.

It was no use and they were about to start spinning, I prayed to Morax and hoped he wouldn't forget me when suddenly I heard someone shout...

"LAMENT"

Xiao-? I tried to see what was happening but my vision was blurry and I layed on the floor In an uncomfy position.

Deserved.

I heard the ruin guards tumble to the floor as Xiao killed every last one. I heard his footsteps and decided to would be fine, I kept my eyes open even though everything was still slightly blurry and I felt dizzy.

Xiao gave me the items from the chests and teleported us to Wangshu Inn, he called for the owner and let me sleep.

He tended to my wounds while I slept and watched over me for a bit to make sure I was safe before going back out to fight demons.

I was asleep for about 2 hours before I drowsily woke up and I'm 90% sure Xiao did my bandages but I was still unsure because I had bandages on my stomach, chest, and even some on my arms. 

I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I showered once again and  re-did my bandages. They were a bit looser then I hoped they'd be but at least they weren't too tight.

I opened my inventory-like bag and ate a Sweet Madame before going back to Xiao's bed to sleep.

Xiao was there this time and he had his eyes closed while he sat on the chair, I knew he was awake but I was still tired from getting beat up by giant robots. 

I felt bad I couldn't defend myself and got Xiao into my mess but I was also grateful. If he weren't there to save my weak ass, I would likely be passed tf out on a random island in Liyue.

I held Xiao's hand for a bit until I fell asleep, I felt him tense up at the touch but he continued to hold my hand as I slept.

-Xiao's POV-

I held his hand as he slept and tried to connect the dots.

He looked so, so familiar.. But just who was he..

I studied his features and tried to remember but I just couldn't. I'm overthinking this was too much.

He reminded me of my past but when I recalled the memory, all of my yaksha allies's faces were blurry and no matter how hard I rubbed my eyes or tried to remember what they looked like, I couldn't figure it out.

 I was upset because I had a feeling I knew him but ... from where..?

I noticed he had a vision- a dendro one.

Y/N....Dendro vision....

I tried to fix the puzzle but it was like something was holding me back from the answers, I silently cursed and stroked his short, fluffy hair until he was fully unconscious. 

I went back to the balcony I always stayed on and sat in the tree. Why do I even like sleeping on trees now? Have humans affected me that bad already or was it something else..?

 I layed on the tree and stared at the leaves as if trying to get them to answer my questions.

I noticed whenever Y/N is around, he's so.... Carefree.

I wonder if I could be like that one day...
