"Amber!!", my sister screamed as she came running and hugged that unknown girl in joy.

"Sasha!! I was wondering where you were, why haven't I seen you yet?"

I was a bit confused that they knew eachother.
I went to them.

"Meet him, he is my elder brother."

She looked at me
And as soon as our eyes met, a spark was lit in my heart.
I controlled myself and tried to be confident.

"Hello, I am Kevin Dawson."

"Oh, my name's Amber Knightley", she responded in a pleasant voice

"She is a friend of mine, we're in the same class", my sister added.

Why hadn't she ever tell me about Amber before? I felt betrayed.
It pissed me off that I'm finding out about her now through this unexpected encounter, when I should have known her already.

As my irritation grew, i looked away to hide my emotions, but the anger still stimmered inside of me.
Even as I looked at Amber, who was now silently observing me, a flood of conflicting emotions filled my mind.

Meanwhile, some of their other friends also gathered.
I moved a little aside to give them space.

Even as their friends departed, one of them still remained by Amber and my sister's side. Her name was Luna Turner. They joined us.

"Since you have come to my university for the first time bro, why don't I show you around."

Amber added, "Let's check out the areas we're normally not allowed to go to on regular days. What do u think of that Luna?"

Luna nodded, agreeing with the suggestion.
We all hung out together and had fun.
I made several attempts but never got a chance to talk to Amber in private.

She seemed like a fun and positive person with abundant energy,
but I couldn't understand why she remained secluded and quiet whenever i was around.

"Click a picture of me and my buddies together with Amber's phone."

"Okay but just one, I don't want to take pictures all day."

Amber approached me to give her phone,
And just like that i went to take her phone
Our fingers grazed each other,
I felt like we're connected on a deeper level.
Our proximity to eachother was so close, for a moment I just kept glancing at her.
It was like we're the only two people in the world.
No one else mattered or existed except the both of us in that moment.

*SNAP* Sasha snapped her fingers to wake me up.

"Bro are u there?"

Luna laughed, and with a playful but curious smile asked,
"Oooh, so is there something going on between you two~?"

I avoided that question to not make things awkward.
But I noticed that Amber turned a little red.

"Amber, are you blushing?"

Amber moved to them and said,

"Stop kidding around both of you, lets take a pic quickly then I will have to go home."

"It's almost evening, didn't even realize where did the time go?" Luna replied

"Okay bro, we're all ready, click."

"Here I go."

Everyone then thought of going to their homes because it was going to be late.
Luna immediately left because she had some urgent work.

Now me and my sister were also leaving to go home.
As we exited the university gate, Amber and I exchanged brief glances that seemed to hold a lot of unspoken emotions.

My sister waved goodbye to Amber and then turned to me with a playful smile.

"Byee, Amber!" her voice echoed, and her friend waved back with a gentle smile.

Amber and I shared a final look before I finally spoke.

"Bye, Amber.... It was nice to meet you."

Amber looked away for a moment, and then softly said, "Bye....Kevin."
