description: unbeknownst to gyujin, haoyu returns to korea after a year after the unfortunate death of his mother to be with him.

"stop being so dramatic. he's busy now that he went back to playing in his school's orchestra."

gyuvin sighed, dropping the book on his face. after haoyu left, gyujin thought it'd be good to befriend his brother. but it made him miss haoyu even more.

"do you like him! you're acting like a girl when her crush doesn't respond to her in .5 milliseconds."

"i'm not answering that! you'll make fun of me."

"no, i don't have the energy to anymore. living here in korea has tired me out." said yŭxuān, yawning.

gyujin completely forgot that the only reason why he was still there was because mei-xia decided to stay to take care of him until haoyu returned.

if he ever did.

it often hurt gyujin to think about their last moments before haoyu ran onto the plane in hopes of not messing up the plan.

"why did you want me to stand here with you?" said gyujin, holding some of his luggage.

haoyu looked at gyujin with a mixture of seriousness and vulnerability. "i need you here because you're my friend. when things get tough back at home, knowing you're by my side will give me strength."

gyujin couldn't help but smile, a mix of fondness and sadness in his eyes. "promise me you'll take care of yourself while i'm gone," haoyu added, holding gyujin's gaze as if trying to memorize every detail.

"here, take this! to remember me." said gyujin, holding out a bracelet. haoyu accepted the bracelet, his eyes reflecting gratitude. "i'll cherish it, gyujin. and don't worry, i'll be back before you know it." he secured the bracelet on his wrist.

realizing that gyuvin and ricky were almost done talking, gyujin pushed the luggage back into the other boys' hand and turned towards haoyu. "take care, alright? and make sure you come back in one piece," gyujin said, trying to mask the concern in his voice with a teasing tone.

haoyu smiled, a mix of determination and warmth. "don't worry. i'll be eagerly waiting to hear about your adventures when i return."

gyujin suddenly felt an urge of emotions growing stronger inside him as he pulled the boy back and kissed him.

what?! stupid puberty.

gyujin turned around as haoyu, surprised but not entirely opposed, responded to the unexpected kiss with confusion and realization. gyujin, flustered and caught off guard, muttered, "uh, that was just... well, take it as a reminder, i guess."

"we're too young for this, gyujin. maybe when we're older and more mature, we can talk about this." gyujin nodded at haoyu as he reminded him that ricky was walking in their direction.

"goodbye kim gyujin."

"bye, zhou haoyu." said gyujin, waving sadly.
