Chapter - 36

KS - Sir Madam sir kaha hain.

[AV walked straight into the thana, not answering her question.]

[He gathered the team and KS and everyone was looking at him with confusion]

AV - Karn ko ready kar diya?

[MS nodded to his question]

AV - Good. 

[He looked around the team and began.]

AV - Team there's a change of plan.

AV - Haseena ji Karn ko lekar wahan nahi jaayengi.

[KS again asked where HM was but he didn't answer this time as well]

MS - Agar Haseena madam nahi jaayengi Karn ko lekar to phir kon jaayega sir?

[MS stated the question that was on everyone's mind]

[AV looked around the room and then announced the name of the person]

AJ - Hum?

[At first, AJ thought that AV was not serious but one look on his face could confirm that he was not kidding.]

AJ - Hum kaise jaa sakte hain? Hum to... 

[It was clear that AJ was nervous about going there]

AJ - Haseena ka plan sahi tha to phir ye last moment pe plan...

KS - Kahe? plan change kahe nahi ho sakta?

AJ - Kyuki Haseena ne hi to kaha tha ki Tanvi unse milna chahti hogi.... Aur waise bhi ye case me wo lead hain to unka jaana better hai...

[AJ started to take several steps back when KS stood in front of her]

KS - Ya phir aap darr rahi hain?

AJ - Dekho main to Tanvi se pehle bhi mil chuki hun aur usse iss plan ke baare kme turant pata chal jaayega agar main wahan gayi.

[She turned to AV]

AJ - Plan hi fail ho jaayega na aapka pura. Mujhe wahan bhejke.

[MS, KS, and Deewanji started speaking all at once about how AJ was taking a step back when she was to contribute to the case while Saurabh said several things in her favor.]

AV - Enough! 

[Av's voice boomed across the thana and his look made the whole thana go silent.]

AV - At what point aapko aisa laga ki hum aap se puch rahe hain ya request kar rahe hain?

AJ - Hum to ---

AV - Nahi. Aapse hum puch nahi rahe. Aap wahi karengi jo aapse kaha jaayega kyuki case ko lead karna to door aap to idea dene ka bhi haq kho chuki hain.

[He gave her a moment to let it settle]

AV - Baaki ka plan exact same rahega.

[He turned around to leave when AJ's voice stop him]

AJ - Acha? To phir ek kaam kijiye humari official report likheye.

[He turned around to see AJ challenging him with this]

AJ - Kyu? Nahi kar sakte? Warna aapko ye jo aapka case hai ise band karna padega?

[She crossed her arms and glared at him while AV was silently observing her.]

AJ - Ya phir Haseena ne kaha hai aapko aisa isliye nahi kar sakte officially report?

[She smirked thinking her plan worked but her smile was short-lived when AV began to shake his head]

AV - Pata nahi aapke dimag me kya chgalta hai? Officer bani bhi kaise aap? 

[It was his time to smile]

AV - Kahin Tanvi ke saath aap bhi to chori karne bahar nahi jaati thin? Aur jab laga ki wo jyada intelligent hai to usse pakdwa diya?

[AJ was about to reply when AV cut her off]

AV - Aur rahi baat aapki official report likhne ki to wo to hum ab bhi de sakte hain. Ab humare paas itne saboot hain ki hum iss investigation ko aage continue kare aur case me officially aapko orders den kyuki aap directly case se involve hain.

[AJ didn't say a word and just stood there silent with a grim expression on her face.]

AV - aap ko sach me pata bhi hai ki haseena ji kyu nahi aapki official report dena chahti? Kyuki wo aapko ek chance dena chahtin hain. Kyuki unhe lagtahai ki sayad aap iss sab me jimmedar nahi hain aur har koi ek second chance deserve karta hai.

[AJ couldn't find words and took everything that AV was saying silently]

AV - But I guess app nahi kartin. Kyuki agar karti hotin to actually me iss case me contribute karne ke time pe peeche hatne ka nahi sochtin.

AV - But that's okay kyuki aapki permission ki zaroorat nahi hai mujhe. Karn ko leke Tanvi ke paas to aap hi jaayengi.

[With a final word, AV left the room and checked on Karn while the others were finalising on the plan]

[AJ approached AV near the store room]

AJ - Tanvi meri best friend hua karti thi.

[AV was aware of AJ behind him but he didn't turn to acknowledge her]

[AV scoffed and said]

AV - Of course. Or kya hi expect kar sakte hain?

AJ - Aisa nahi hai. Hum bhi academy me nahye the aur jiss tarah se Tanvi baat karti thi aisa lagta tha jaise wo bahut passionate hai aur actually me Police forcce me reh ke kuch acha karna chahti hai. main bhi same hi thi to jyada time nahi laga Tanvi se dosti hone me. I thought she wanted a change in the system and I still somewhat believe that. 

[AV finally turned and looked at AJ who had unshed tears in her eyes.]

AV - Aur ye sab aap hume kyu bata rahin hain?

AJ - Kyuki I know ki Tanvi ne mujhe iss case me kyu involve kiya hai. She doesn't want revenge as she said. Usse sirf mujhe yaa haseena ko nahi dikhana ki wo superior ya intelligent hai balki pure department ko dikhana hai.

AV - Matlab uska goal sirf ye nahi hai?

[AJ shook her head, a seriousness covering her face.]

AJ - Mujhe nahi lagta ki wo sirf yahi plan karke baithi hai balki I think usne already aage ki planning ki huyi hai.

AV - Aapko pata hai na aapka track record yahan jyada acha nahi hai?

[AV raised a brow at her and she nodded]

AJ - I know I have been keeping information lekin trust me Haseena ko marwane ka uska actual me koi plan nahi tha.

[AV threw his hands in the air in a desperate attempt to make sense of the words AJ was throwing at him.]

AV - Mujhe to ye samajh nahi aa raha hai ki aap aur ye aapka dost Saurabh dono ye expect kyu karte hain ki chahe uske hone ki possibility zero hi kyu naa ho, koi bhi information chuphana relevant hai ya hum aap ko case me openly involve hone denge iss sab ke baad.

[AV was expecting an answer and given the nature of AJ, he was prepared to hear some useless excuse. What he didn't expect was another question.]

AJ - Hum matlab kon? Aap aur Haseena?
