'Hijo de puta!' I screamed as I punched Oscar in the face. 'Dani!'

Some of the Santo's held me back as Oscar stood up, spitting on the ground.

'Let me go!' I yelled as I struggled to get out of their grip. 'What the fuck, Dani!' Oscar yelled. 'You made Cesar a fuckin Santo?!' I yelled at him. He realized what I was talking about and chuckled.

'You're gonna fuckin chuckle now?!' I asked, still struggling in their grip. 'He's 15, Oscar!' I heaved, stop struggling in their grip.

'Sueltala' Oscar told the guys. They let go of me as Oscar went to stand in front of me. 'He's old enough to join. I joined when I was his age' he said, trying to make a point.

'Yeah, because dad forced you in case he went to jail. I didn't speak to dad for two weeks after that! That's fucked up Oscar!' I screamed at him.

'Mind your business, Dani. He's in now, there's no turning back' Oscar sighed, clenching his jaw.

Anger was boiling inside of me when I saw my little brother look to the ground, his bruises still seen through his white shirt.

'Te odio' I spat. 'You're the worst fuckin person that's ever been in my life. You're worse than all the abusive families I've lived with'

Everyone was silent as Oscar had an angry expression on his face.

'You're the worst brother. First you ruin my life and then you ruin his?'

'Cesar, tell her you want to be in it' Oscar said to him, while still looking at me. I looked at Cesar as he looked around nervously.

'It's okay, Dani' he stuttered, smiling softly at me. 'Let's go inside' Cesar grabbed my arm gently, taking us back inside while I kept staring at Oscar.

I hate him.

'Do you wanna walk together to school tomorrow?' Cesar smiled at me through the mirror as we were brushing our teeth.

'Of course' I smiled at him. We finished brushing our teeth together like when we were kids again.

'You know' I put my toothbrush away and faced him. 'When I turn eighteen, I'm getting us out of here' I whispered.

'Dani, I can't. I'm already in' Cesar sighed, putting his toothbrush away.

'I don't give a fuck, we're getting out of here'

Cesar smiled at me and hugged me. 'Why didn't you tell me?' I whispered, rubbing his back in comfort.

'I didn't want you to get mad' he shrugged and broke out of the hug. 'I'm not mad at you' I shook my head at him. He was the last person I could be mad at.

'I meant, at Oscar' he said, making me sigh. 'I'm already mad at him for several reasons, Cesar. This is just the cherry on top' I told him.

'The gang wants to help me get out. Ruby's gonna talk with Oscar tomorrow' Cesar said, making us both chuckle.

If I remember anything about Ruby, it's that he can't stop talking when he's nervous. He had a crush on me when we were little.

'It's sweet, that they wanna help you' I shrugged as Cesar sighed a 'yeah'.

'It's not going to help, I think' Cesar sighed while looking down. I hate it that he's part of it now. He's a good kid. He doesn't deserve this.

I thought Oscar would know how it feels to be forced into a gang and wouldn't let it happen to Cesar. He knows how it feels like because of dad.
