Marinette's POV

The tranquillity of the temple was seldom disturbed, its silence only occasionally punctuated by the rhythmic chants of the monks or the gentle rustling of the trees outside. For eons, I've served as its guardian, ensuring the sanctity of this place remains untouched. The temple and its surroundings resonated with a unique energy, a pulse that I had become deeply attuned to.

So, when I felt an unfamiliar energy approach, I was immediately alert. Peering from the temple's main entrance, I saw two figures making their way toward us, their silhouettes contrasting sharply against the pristine snow. One figure dragged the other, who appeared lifeless.

The first, a woman, moved with a grace and purpose that spoke of training and discipline. The second, a larger, seemingly lifeless form, emitted a maelstrom of conflicting energies - pain, confusion, anger, and beneath it all, a faint ember of hope.

Onyx, as I'd later come to know her, stopped a few feet from the temple's entrance, seemingly unsure. But it wasn't her that drew my focus; it was him. This "Heretic." Even in his unconscious state, there was an aura around him that was both haunting and compelling.

Despite the stories I had heard of the outside world and its complex tapestry of emotions, nothing had prepared me for the sheer intensity that radiated from this individual. His presence was like a storm, a whirlwind of experiences and memories, each more tumultuous than the last.

As Onyx approached, there was desperation in her eyes. "Please," she began, her voice heavy with emotion, "he needs help. More than I can provide."

I nodded, signalling the monks to assist. "Bring him inside. We will do what we can."

As they moved Heretic, I couldn't help but feel a connection to him. Perhaps it was the complexity of his essence or the journey his soul had undertaken. Whatever it was, I knew that our paths crossing was no mere coincidence. The universe, in its infinite wisdom, had brought him here for a reason, and I was determined to discover what that was.
