Lost in the soft glow of my office, I couldn't help but drift into a daydream, the memories of the night with Jude replaying in my mind like a cherished film. The gentle hum of the air conditioner and the soft city lights outside provided a tranquil backdrop, but my thoughts were far from the reports on my desk.

As the cursor blinked on my computer screen, my mind continued to wander back to the moments shared with Jude. His touch, the warmth of his gaze, and the subtle electricity that seemed to happened between us played on a loop in my mind. It was a reel of memories that sparked several emotions within me.

His compliments, the genuine interest he showed, and the shared laughter all contributed to a magical evening glued to my memory. Each word he spoke carried a weight of sincerity that lingered in my thoughts, and I couldn't help but smile at the recollection.

The connection with Jude felt amazing. It's funny, just weeks ago I was being lead on by someone, who clearly didn't value me. In the few moments I've shared with Jude. I felt like someone again, someone who was deserving, someone who was seen and heard.

Lucia's gentle knock on my office door interrupted my thoughts, bringing me back to the present. With a subtle shake of my head, slightly dazed from my daydreaming I gave her a pleasant smile waiting on her to speak.

"Miss Avery, Jude Bellingham is here for the briefing," she announced, but I could tell she was nervous. She wasn't hiding it well.

I furrowed my brows, a hint of confusion crossing my features. "Just Avery remember, also our meeting was scheduled for a Zoom call, right?"

"Yes, it was," she confirmed. "However, he requested to have the briefing in person. Shall I bring him in?"

I hesitated for a moment, the unexpected turn of events catching me off guard. "Um, yes, please bring him in," I replied.

Jude entered my office with a confident stride, a slight smile playing on his lips. His presence filled the room, and I couldn't help but notice the subtle scent of his cologne.

"Good to see you, Avery," he greeted warmly, extending his hand for a professional shake. I reciprocated, noting the firmness of his grip. As soon as Lucia was out the door, which she closed behind her he said, "I'd rather see that face in person than on a screen"

"Plus I find that discussions flow better face-to-face," he explained, settling into the chair opposite mine.

"I need to focus, please do not rizz me up right now" I smiled staring at my laptop, looking for the folder than had everything. I used the remote to click, and a white backdrop appeared, since he's here I may as well present as I would with another client. I quietly continued setting up before announcing I was ready to get right into it.
