Sitting across from Lisa in her cozy apartment, I recounted the latest developments with my dad's health. "So two jeans, ended up being the only match to donate blood for my dad," I explained, stirring my tea thoughtfully.

Lisa's eyes widened in surprise. "What? that's so crazy," she remarked, her voice laced with astonishment.

"Yeah, it really caught me off guard," I admitted, "But now we're just waiting to see how things go."

Lisa reached out, placing a comforting hand on my arm. "I can only imagine how stressful this must be for you," she said softly, her eyes filled with empathy.

I nodded, grateful for her understanding. "It's been a lot, to say the least," I replied, taking a sip of my tea.

"And to make things even more weird, he tried to apologize to me," I continued, my voice tinged with frustration. "He said he realized he was wrong for not stepping up sooner, that he missed me and it took losing me to see what he had."

"Well, boohoo cry me a river that's his lost"

I nodded in agreement, "exactly, just do what you said you'd do and be done. I'm not ungrateful but I just didn't care to hear about all of that right now"

"It definitely threw me for a loop," I continued, feeling the weight of the situation bearing down on me. "On one hand, I appreciate the gesture, but on the other... it's hard to forget everything he put me through. I didn't want to forget either."

She nodded in understanding, her gaze filled with empathy. "Girl I'm just happy to know your dad got what he needed," she said quietly, her voice filled with compassion.

I sighed, feeling a sense of relief wash over me as I shared my thoughts with Lisa. "Yeah, me too," I replied, grateful for her support.

"Have you talked to Jude about all of this?" She asked gently, her brow furrowing with concern.

I nodded, offering a small smile. "Yeah, I told him everything," I replied, feeling a sense of relief wash over me at the mention of Jude's name. "He's been incredibly supportive through all of this."

"That's good to hear," Lisa remarked, her expression softening with reassurance. "What did he think about two jeans stepping in to donate blood?"

"He was a bit skeptical at first," I admitted, recalling Jude's initial reaction. "But in the end, he understood that it was a life or death situation for my dad. He just wants what's best for me and my family."

"That's really sweet," Lisa remarked, her eyes filled with admiration. "It sounds like you have a good one."

I nodded, feeling a swell of gratitude for Jude's support. "Yeah, I'm really lucky," I replied, my voice filled with affection.

Just then, my phone chimed with a message, and I glanced down to see a text from Jude. "Speak of the devil, he should be landing soon," I said with a smile, tapping out a quick response.

"By the way, there's something I've been wanting to talk to you about," she began tentatively, her gaze flickering with uncertainty.
