❝𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐈𝐓 𝐓𝐎𝐎𝐊? 𝐀 𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐘?❞ steve whispered as he bent closer to sheridan's ear. the two of them, with robin and dustin at their respective sides, found themselves back on starcourt's roof.

"and my dignity," dani muttered.

"erica, do you copy?" robin inquired through dustin's walkie-talkie. the henderson boy kept a watchful eye on the loading docks with his binoculars.

"mhm, i copy," erica sassily responded. sherrie's lips angled into a grin. "you nerds in position or what?"

"yeah, we're in position. it's all quiet here, so you've got the green light," robin softly spoke.

"green light. roger that. commence operation child endangerment." a burst of laughter erupted through dani. she had to hand it to her, erica had a great sense of humor.

"can we maybe not call it that?" robin suggested exasperatedly. steve nodded in agreement.

"see you on the other side, nerds," was all erica replied with. silence filled the air once erica cut contact. dani bit down on her fingernails feverishly.

"i hope she makes it alright," steve mumbled, voicing sheridan's concern aloud. her heart swelled, though, finding it rather endearing that, despite the fact that erica bossed him around like she was the one who paid him, he was still worried. sherrie ran her hand up and down steve's shoulder as an attempt to comfort him.

"she's erica sinclair; she'll be okay."

"all right, nerds. i'm there," erica's voice echoed from the handheld radio. both steve and dani exhaled sighs of relief.

"do you-do you see anything?" robin stuttered.

"yeah, i see those boring boxes you're so excited about."

"any guards?"

"negative."

"thank god," sherrie suspired.

"booby traps?" robin asked, alluding to the very traps erica had hesitations about encountering earlier.

"if i could see them, they'd be pretty shit traps, wouldn't they?!" dani placed her palm over her mouth to stop herself from laughing again.

"thank you for that," robin satirically stated.

"i'm in," erica divulged after another few seconds of silence. sheridan gently took the walkie-talkie from robin's hands.

"way to go, erica. we knew you could do it," dani commended.

"oh, god," steve groaned, running his hands through his hair. abruptly, the loading dock doors began to part, and from between them emerged erica. the lights attached to her helmet shone brightly in the four's eyes. she placed her hand on her hip, taking notice of the victorious smiles the teens wore.
