“Things weren't always this way, dark and cold nights full of violence around every corner. He was once the bright warm sun to my cold winter day, the kind of boy you would want to bring home to meet your mom. The type of boy who would bring you your favorite snacks on a bad day and do everything in his power to see you smile again. That's the kind of person my lost sunbeam was, but now he's a burning ray of hatred, who would hate me more if he knew what I thought of him now…”

Cold..that all i could feel as i stared blankly up at the dark cloudy sky. I could feel the coldness from the raindrops as they fell on my limp body, soaking me to the bone. There were people yelling and crying but all I could hear clearly was his voice, the raw pain and anguish that came from him drifted so sweetly to me but tore at my heart. I wanted to reach out to him and hold his hand to soothe his pain, but my body was too weak as my blood stained the pale concrete red. But I wasn't afraid of the darkness that was slowly consuming me, instead it felt more like a welcoming embrace. I closed my eyes as a small smile graced my lips. Finally, some much needed sleep.
