Chapter 4- Who am I really?

Itachi picked me up bridal style and jumped out of the window.
I shrieked in surprise.

We jumped through the trees and swiftly landed on one. I took my time to admire the view I was seeing. We were in a beautiful greeny forest with tall trees. Never in my past life have I seen something so magnificent.

-Do you want to take a break?-Itachi asked.

-No, we can keep going.

Itachi nodded his head and resumed jumping from tree to tree.

-You can always go to sleep if you'd like. I don't mind. Besides it would be better for you to not know the exact location of the hideout.

I looked at him with narrowed eyes.
That makes sense-I thought.
With that I closed my eyes and fell asleep almost instantly.

I opened my eyes to see that we were in a cave lightened by a campfire. I looked to see Itachi boiling something in a pot. He noticed I was awake and said- I'm making a soup.

-Oh, thank you- I smiled. I haven't eaten anything in a while.

He gave me a wooden cup and spilled some soup in it. I took a sip and moaned in delight.

-It's really good!- I said with an even wider grin.

-I'm glad you like it- Itachi said with a genuine smile on his face.

We ate in silence. When I finnished I asked Itachi a question I've wanted an answer to for a while.

-Itachi, what was my mother to you?

Itachi widened his eyes at the question, but eventually answered- She was a dear friend of mine. I cared about her more than anything in the world. And when you were born, I fell in love with your sweet baby face at first sight- He smiled.

I turned my head away with a small blush on my face.
-Embarassing..

Itachi laughed. It was a really pleasant sound.

-Can you tell me more about her? And my dad?

Itachi furrowed his brows at the question.
-Maybe later- He said while poking my forehead. For a second I saw the face of my mother.

-Okay.

-Go to sleep, we've got a long day tommorow.

I nodded and went to sleep.

Itachi woke me up early in the morning as expected. He said we were near the hideout. I was excited but at the same time scared. How will the other members treat me? Will Pain even allow me to stay?

But then I remembered Itachi's words:
,,I won't let the others take you, do you understand?''

As I was lost in my thoughts we finally came to a stop. I looked after Itachi's gaze to see a stone wall. I furrowed my brows in confusion.

-Itachi, there's nothing here. Unless. A genjutsu.

-You're pretty smart for your age do you know that, Ruri? Your mother must have taught you well.

Itachi put me on the ground and started leading me closer to the wall.Then suddenly a blue shark-like man came out of the shadows.

-Yo, Itachi. Who is that pretty little girl you have here?

Itachi squinted his eyes in anger at the blue man mentally telling him to back off.

Kisame ignored him and kneeled down in front of me.

-You've got some pretty eyes here young lady.

-T-thank you- I stuttered.

He looked at me a little bit closer and widened his eyes.
I gave a puzzled expression at that.
Why does he look at me so weirdly?

-Itachi, I have to say this girl here looks a lot like you.

I widened my eyes at this.

-Is she maybe your secret daughter?
