Chapter 17- A dangerous mission. Journey to the Land of Waves.

-Sasuke: I'm at point B.

-Sakura: I'm at point C.

-Ruri: I'm at point D.

-Naruto: I'm at point A! Believe it!

-You're so slow Naruto...- Kakashi said through the microphone. Okay, Squad 7! .... Target has moved! Follow it!

We quickly jumped between the trees after our target.

-Over there!- Naruto whispered.

-What's your distance from the target?- Kakashi asked.

-5 meters- Naruto replied- I'm ready, just give the signal!

-I'm ready too- Sasuke said.

-So am I- replied Sakura.

-Eyes on the prize..- I said.

-Okay.... Now!

All four of us jumped at the cat but Naruto got to it first.

-I got him, I got him!- he yelled.
Almost immiediately the cat started clawing and hissinig at Naruto.

-Can you verify the ribbon on the right ear?- Kakashi asked.

-Affirmative, we got a positive ID- Sasuke replied.

I kneeled down next to Naruto and took the cat from him. I started petting it and held it in a comfortable position, so it could rest. Tora immiediately started purring.

Naruto jumped back up.

-That cat! Is evil!

As if on cue, Tora hissed at him.

-Lost pet Tora captured. Mission accomplished- Kakashi stated.

-Can't we get a better mission than this!? I hate cats!- Naruto shouted.

-M-my ears...

-Aww my poor little Tora, mommy was so worried about her naughty little fuzzy cat, yes!- the owner of Tora shouted while squeezing the life out of the cat.

-Haha, stupid cat. That kitty deserves to be squashed!- Naruto laughed.

-No wonder he ran away..- said Sakura.

I walked up to the lady holding the poor cat.

-H-hey, Ruri-chan, what are you- Sakura started.

-Hello there miss. I was a part of the squad that helped capture Tora. If I may, your cat clearly doesn't like to be held like this. Maybe try loozing your arms a little?

She looked at me dumbfounded but did what she was told. Tora immiediately relaxed in the lady's arms and even started purring.

-Oh my! Thank you very much sweetie! I didn't know he could purr like that!

-It's nothing, really- I replied.
Kakashi walked up to me and put a hand on my shoulder.

-Nicely done, Ruri.
I smiled at his praise.

-Now- the Hokage interrupted- for squad's 7 next mission we have several available tasks. Among them babysitting the chief councillor's 3 year old. Helping his wife to do the shopping. Digging up potatoes and-

-Nooo!- Naruto wailed- I wanna go on a real mission! Something challenging, exciting, not this little kids stuff! Come on old man!

-HOW DARE YOU!- Iruka shouted from his seat next to the Hokage- YOU'RE JUST A BRAND NEW GENIN WITH NO EXPERIENCE! LIKE EVERYONE ELSE YOU START WITH SIMPLE MISSIONS TO DEVELOP YOUR SKILLS AND PROVE YOURSELF!
