Chapter 34- The truth?

*3rd person's pov*

Gasps of surprise and worry could be heard around the hall. All of rookie 10 looked at the young dark-haired girl about to fight with concern on their faces, some hiding it better than the others.

*Neji's pov*

I don't know who that guy is.. but I'm sure Ruri will be fine. She has to.

*Hinata's pov*

R-ruri-chan.. fights first.. P-please.. please be alright!

*Sakura's pov*

Ruri-chan fights with Kabuto.. At least he didn't see her in action.. and doesn't have any information on her.. She will be fine, I know it!

*Naruto's pov*

Ruri-chan.. and Kabuto? Oh man! No, she has to win! She's the best! A-after me of course!

*Sasuke's pov*

Ruri fights with that guy.. at least he doesn't know anything about her.. but.. to be honest.. I don't think we know anything about him too.

*Ino's pov*

-Woo hoo! Go Ruri-chan!- I exclaimed excitedly, the earlier nervousness slowly leaving me.

*Shikamaru's pov*

That guy's an enigma.. that's for sure..

*Kiba's pov*

Akamaru's acting strange around this guy.. what a pain! On the other hand.. it's going to be the first time I see Ruri fight seriously! Hell yeah!

*Choji's pov*

Maybe after this Ruri'll take me for some food...

*Kakashi's pov*

This guy.. seems strange. He's failed 6 times! But.. there's something more to it. Definetly.

If Ruri uses her sharingan everyone will find out about her origins.. Let's see how this match goes..

*Lee's pov*

Ruri-san, my angel! I can't wait to see your fight!

-You have been chosen for the first match- Gekko announced- Yakushi Kabuto. And Ruri. Are there any objections?

-No- I curtly said.

-Same here- Kabuto muttered with a smug smile.

-Then if you're ready, let the match begin!

When the proctor recoiled, I immediately lifted my feet off the ground, gently rubbing the soles of my sandals. Quickly, I retrieved 4 senbon needles from my right pocket and hurled them at Kabuto. The silver-haired man, caught off guard by the sudden attack, barely managed to grab a kunai before the first senbon needle pierced his arm. As I approached, I raised my leg and delivered a hard kick to his side. Kabuto fell instantly, tumbling to the floor.

-Don't underestimate me!- I shouted at him as he struggled to get back up.
-What are you talking about?- he replied with a chuckle.
I gritted my teeth, wasting no time as I approached him with a kunai in hand. His smirk widened as he readied his own kunai knife.
Soon, we clashed, stirring up dust. Despite momentarily losing sight, I blinked away the dirt and continued to attack.
I blocked his strikes, dodging a blow and seizing the opportunity to hit a pressure point on his elbow.
He winced, confusion evident in his dark eyes. I gathered chakra in my palm and targeted his chest, disabling his chakra points with a single thrust.
Kabuto coughed and groaned in pain.

*Hinata's pov*

Gentle fist! But how?
Glancing at brother Neji, who smirked and muttered something, I wondered if he had trained Ruri-chan. Did he dislike me so much that he refused to assist 'me'?
