My every step goes unnoticed
They remain oblivious to my words
My every breath is unknown
And my every thought remains unheard
For what am I but a lonely ember,
Dancing in a fiery hearth?
Burning with false hope
Until I'm washed away from this Earth
And what am I but a droplet of rain?
A rustling sigh in the trees?
A grain of sand, and when the dune shifts
Forever lost in the breeze
What am I but a speck of dirt?
A small, feathery dandelion seed?
A wave in an ocean of endless blue
A dying blade of grass in a sea of weeds
And if I were to leave, I would not be forgotten
For there would be nothing to remember
I was simply a snowflake passing by
On a snowy night in December

Oh, the metaphors
I really love that second and last stanza
I mean, they're bloody deep, aren't they?
