I'm surrounded by unfamiliar land
As I tread on a path that's not my own
Shadows lick hungrily at my feet
The chilling silence broken by the wind's eerie moan

The trees stoop down to block the light
As I continue on this trail of ceaseless black
My heart longs for a cozy fire
But it's too late to turn back

Bats swoop down, ravens screech
Roots reach out for me to trip
The leaves whisper, mock, and laugh
At my every stumble and slip

Am I cursed to roam this dreary place?
On this road that never ends?
This mischievous forest where dark things creep,
And bring death round every bend?

Life is a tricky thing
Where every path has a cost
Choose carefully, for a single mistake
Will leave you forever lost
