Chapter 41: A Night of Unease

As April retired to her bedroom, a sense of unease lingered in the air, a lingering shadow of the danger that had stalked her earlier in the evening. Though unaware of Deathstroke's presence, a nagging feeling gnawed at the edges of her consciousness, whispering of unseen threats and looming danger.

With a sigh, April slipped beneath the covers of her bed, her mind racing with thoughts of the events that had transpired. She couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, the sense that danger lurked just beyond the edge of her perception.

Despite her best efforts to push aside her fears, sleep eluded April, her mind restless with worry. She tossed and turned in her bed, the weight of uncertainty pressing down upon her with suffocating force.

Outside her window, the city lay shrouded in darkness, its streets silent and still in the dead of night. But within the confines of her apartment, April felt anything but safe. Every creak of the floorboards, every rustle of the curtains, sent a shiver of apprehension down her spine, a constant reminder of the ever-present threat that loomed over her.

As the hours ticked by, April's exhaustion began to catch up with her, her eyelids growing heavy with fatigue. But even as she drifted off into fitful slumber, her dreams were haunted by visions of shadows and whispers of danger, a testament to the lingering unease that plagued her every waking moment.

And so, as the night wore on and the darkness deepened, April slept fitfully, her rest disturbed by the specter of danger that lurked just beyond the edge of her consciousness. For even in the safety of her own home, she knew that the shadows held secrets that refused to be ignored, and that the danger that stalked her in the night was far from over.
