The five of them enjoyed their breakfast at the Bellevue waffle house, after a night of drama and danger. They were relieved that they had escaped from Deadeye, and that they had recovered the jade serpent. They were also grateful that they had each other, and that they had formed a bond of friendship and trust. Maria asked Lucky a question, curious about his history.
"Do you always get captured by bad guys?" she asked.
Lucky nodded, and smiled sheepishly.
"It's a common unlucky situation," he said. "I'm always getting captured and tied up and gagged. I feel like a damsel in distress sometimes."
The others laughed, and teased him.
"Maybe you should change your name to Lucky Charm," Hiro said.
"Or maybe you should wear a princess dress," Gavin said.
"Or maybe you should learn some self-defense," Scott said.
Lucky took their jokes in stride, and laughed along with them.
"Hey, I'm not complaining. Being captured has its perks. I get to meet interesting people, like you guys. And I get to be rescued by my handsome hero, Hiro," he said, and winked at Hiro.
Hiro blushed, and kissed him on the cheek.
"You're welcome, my lucky star," he said.'''
