Since it was Yerim's first day at Taekwondo club and she had no shirt for it yet, so she just sat quietly and watched the students being taught. While no one approached her to teach any move, or maybe they were ashamed to get close to her after what happened before.
"Hi, can I know your name? I've never seen you before." suddenly a girl approached her, and of course, Yerim had to read her expression first. But for now, nothing weird. Just the normal desire curiosity of the girl who wants to know about Yerim.
"Hi, I'm Moon Yerim." she smiled as she still lingered in embarrassment at how Jungwon scolded her in front of everyone that she couldn't talk much at the moment. "Oh, I'm Hyemin. I think you're my senior, but is it okay if I be your friend?" asked her. "Of course, why would I care about age in friendship."
"By the way, you still got no shirt for Taekwondo?" asked Hyemin seeing how she was the only one wearing a sports shirt. "Yeah, I don't know I had to buy it myself. But should I buy the belt too?" asked Yerim after seeing the green belt wrapped around Hyemin's waist.
"Nope, the belt will be given by our club leader," answered her. "Club leader? You mean, Yang Jungwon?" asked Yerim casually. Hyemin had to shut her right away when she mentioned Jungwon's name just like that.
"You can't mention his name just like that!" Hyemin lowered her voice tone, she was scared that anyone would hear of their conversation. "What do you mean? Why?" asked Yerim in confusion. Is he that scary?
"You see, this club didn't have a senior and junior system. Whoever had a higher level of belt, we had to respect them. Even though they're senior, if they had a low level of belt and the junior had a high level of belt, the senior must respect the junior." explains Hyemin.
"Our club leader is the only black belt holder in this club, so some of the seniors were also scared of him. Look at them, the red belt holder. Most of them were a senior, but they followed everything he told them to do."
"So you mean, I as a beginner must respect everyone above me and do what they told me?" asked Yerim. The system is worse for her, it's giving a higher chance of her getting bullied. "I guess so, but don't worry. If our club leader finds out there's bullying in this club, he'll kick them right away," assured Hyemin.
"Green belt turn! Be ready!" the red belt holder student shouted as a sign ready to teach. "Oh, my turn! Bye, gotta go," said Hyemin and ran to the front. Yerim just gives a smile as she feels envy seeing how they know the move of taekwondo.
She also really wants to try and wants someone to teach her the right way how to do it. Yerim just looked at them attentively until the time passed and the club session ended. "Good job everyone, I see some of you guys' improvement. Be ready for next week, I'll teach a new move," said Jungwon before the club ended.
Everyone stood up and walked away from the room, Yerim also did the same thing but suddenly Jungwon called her.
"You, the new girl wait here."
Said him in a serious tone. 'What is it again? Is there anything that he is not satisfied yet with her? And they're obviously classmates, why didn't he just call her name instead of the new girl?' thought Yerim.
However, she just does of what he tells her, just like Hyemin said, she must respect high-level belts even though they're classmates. Jungwon comes out from the room store and brings a white belt in his hand, he then gives it to Yerim.
"You're still new and know nothing about Taekwondo. White belt suit for you."
He said without looking at her a bit as he busy taking off his belt. White belt? She understands how she's still new but Yerim actually saw some of the students before also new too but he gives them a yellow belt. And she the only one given a white belt? It's obviously unfair to her.
"Thank you, I really do appreciate this."
That was insincerity from Yerim but she still had to play nice in front of Jungwon. No matter how much she wants to get mad at him but she must hold herself. Yerim walks away from there, as it's really drying her energy.
"And one more time you're late again next time, I'll kick you from this club," warned him.
It's like he wants to kick her so bad from this club, if only Yerim knew he's the club leader, she probably wouldn't want to join this club. Or should she just change her club?
