Harper possessed a rare talent - she could blend two worlds that the universe swore could never coexist: her humdrum life as an accountant by day with her steamy famous alter ego crafting erotic tales online by night.

❝Feels like I've known you my whole life I can see right through your lies I don't know where we're going But I'd like to be by your side❞

I could still feel it — the curve of a man's existence right before I bashed it like I had absolutely no business doing.
Shaking my head to clear away the lingering mental image of Aiden writhing in pain, I turned to face Aryan with a tentative smile.
"Is this alright?"
I handed him the pads I had handy from the bathroom's medicine cabinet and he nodded, taking them bashfully.
"I'm really sorry," he started again, his voice hushed and filled with what sounded more like annoyance than shame, staring at the floor. "I didn't see this coming. My cycle's been quite unpredictable since I started the hormone therapy a couple years ago. If I'd known, I would have—"
"Hey," I interrupted him, putting my hands on his shoulders. "You're fine, relax."
His chocolate browns finally met mine and I gave his shoulders a squeeze.
"Do you want me to make you a cup of tea or anything? It could help with the cramps."
"I'll be fine," he said, the smile on his face not quite reaching his eyes. "Thanks."
He started to leave the bathroom and then stopped halfway, turning to look at me.
"I'd appreciate it if you could keep this between us."
He cocked his head in the direction of Aiden's room.
"Aiden, he gets really...passionate about my journey. It took me years to convince him I can manage without his financial help. I felt like I was making him break his promises to himself about not touching his family's money just for my sake and well..."
Aryan shook his head, sighing painfully as he wrapped one arm around his stomach.
"I'm rambling," he chuckled. "Just...don't mention this to him?"
"Of course," I reassured Aryan, more curious than ever. "It's our little secret."
"Thanks Harper. Goodnight."
"Night Aryan."
He closed the bathroom door behind him. I waited till I heard the click of my bedroom door shutting before I leaned back against the sink, damn near collapsing.
Whirling around to stare down my reflection, I was relieved to see there were no marks or hickeys on my very sensitive skin that Aiden had just eaten up like I was a pot of honey and he was a very hungry, sexy bear.
Sighing, I smoothed down my messed up black waves to look decent again. I opened the medicine cupboard and took out some spare chapstick, applying it on my thick, slightly bruised lips, all the while mentally shouting at myself for mortally injuring the poor man after.
