Maze's pov.

"Excellent job guys!
I'll walk around and take a look at your practicals."

Said Professor Williams,
as he walked around till he reached our cubicle.

Me and Claire who is my best friend of two years were partners by luck.

I was happy for it, we both didn't come here to play.

"Now that's what I expected to see.
A+ for Maze and Claire."

Said Pro. Williams as he walked on to grade other students.

Relief washed over me that I passed the practical and well.

"We nailed it girlfriend.
What did I tell you?
Time to dance to celebrate."

Said Claire,
doing a move I've never seen in my life.

Still, I joined in on it and we both earned silent chuckles.

Incase it's not obvious,
we are the weirdos here.

It's because of Claire and I love her energy that is free and vibrant.

"I need to go call my mom.
I just know she will be blown away."

I said still dancing earning judgement from other students.

"That's right Maze break it down, work it girlfriend! Shake that!"

Shouted Claire,
as she packed her things before packing mine.

My high school results were not promising.

I played to much in highschool ,

so my mom is the only person who believe in me enough to financially back my studies.

I stopped dancing and me and Claire did our secret hand shake.

"Call your mom. Tell her we totally smashed that practical in the face."

Said Claire making me laugh.

I pulled my phone out and was about to dail when there was a knock on the door.

No way! It's my mom!

I ran to the door and hugged her, jumping on her.

She's basically half my size so she fell over.

"Ugh geez, this suit is from Italy, it's no wash and wear kid!"

She screached in annoyance and before pinching my cheeks.

"You cute and all but you are crushing me,
Get off before I die."

My mom said wheezing and out of breathe.

She really lost weight when she went Vegan.

And went on about how she want to save animals.

I got off her and helped her up.

"How are you mom, you look great!"

I said beeming and she patted my head and smiled affectionately.

"Thank coconut bear! I can always count on your love and support."

Said Mom but her smile went away as fast as it came.

"Mom? You good?"

I asked confused at her souring mood.

"Ofcorse coconut bear, let's go to my car, I got you lunch."

Said my mom and pulled at my arm before I can say anything.

"I'll see you later Claire!"

I said noticing that she was invisible to my mom.

We got to the car and it smelt like a cake bakery.
