Prof. Williams pov.

It's not in my nature to involve myself in others affair.

Maze was the exception.

She never bugged me and she is the best in the entire school.

I rather pay for her studies than take a huge blow by losing her.

The dean is my step brother and we are extremely close.

However, I know that I'm crossing a line and this will look strange.

I'm one to exist in my own world and enjoy the peace of isolation.

Some may even say that I don't have a soul.

To be honest, I got scared when Maze was unconscious.

My first thought is that she must of inhaled a chemical that is harmful to her.

After all, I don't supervise the students during practicals.

Even when I'm in the room, my minds not really there.

"Really mom? I can stay?"

Said Maze with hope brimming in her big chocolate brown eyes.

I looked at her mother to see if she really meant it.

"Yes coconut bear, your happiness means the world to me.
I'll even tell your dad about your grades in person,
You know how he feels uncomfortable with face timing and all that.
I'll steal a picture and print it and bring it framed on my next visit.
Make sure you hide it well."

Said Mrs Tyler, before hugging Maze and kissing her on the cheek.

Like you would do to a toddler and not an adult.

Now that I think of it.

Maze is a kid in a woman's body and this some how never bothered me.

Ugh I'm paying too much attention to this lady, I need to tone it down.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you."

Maze said,
happily as she jumped up and down with her hands fit pumping the air.

Typical Maze, over celebrating a small win.

Than she walked up to me and I instantly flinched.

I hated forwardness and I certainly hate hugs.

I tensed up with each step she took but she surprised me.

Maze left a space Infront of me, enough for me to spin with my arms stretched out on either side.

"Thank you Prof. Williams."

She said before smiling greatfuly and stopped Claire,
Who I haven't noticed was standing too close to my side.

"Haven't you heard of personal space?
How about Respect?"

I said to Claire annoyed at her forwardness.

Maze pulled her away and I found myself in her debt.

All the females and males students were the same.

They would walk up to me standing too close to a point of touching me.

I hated every second of it but I'm a doctor,
So I'm supposed to be more tolerant.

"S-sorry Prof. Williams,
I was lost in thought and d-didn't see you there."

Said Claire lying through her teeth and playing with her fingers.

At least look believable, you so don't don't guilty at all.

Claire left quickly and Mrs Tyler left saying that she will see Maze later.
