Waiting For You

Seemed like it was moments ago,
when I was roaming the streets
with my friends, calling your name,
they were chuckling, finding it amusing.

I was shying my eyes,
seemed like it was yesterday,
you came into my house,
saying you want to marry me.
I was like, "God, kill me now,
if you can still..."

You were a soldier,
full of scars,
I was the princess of my home,
full of roses, my body was,
but they agreed,
seeing your persistence,
and I was on cloud ten,
if it exists, I swear.

As I loved you since that parade,
our story started, it was Republic Day,
we were fighting,
whose turn it will be to practice.
"We will dance here," I said,
Oh, how adamant I was,
you were not less than me,
I am chuckling, thinking about it,
but then you retreated,
felt like I won,
but seeing you sad,
I felt like a villain in your story,
at the end of the day,
and you won.

Oh, then our marriage day,
the new ray in my life,
the next day of wedding night,
I found you in your uniform,
''nation calling me'',
your last words,
I smiled bravely, hiding tears,
"Come back safely, I will wait,
doesn't matter if it's the end of eternity."

Now, I am waiting for you,
on the same platform,
where you left me,
all those years ago.
It's been 30 years, 20 days,
since the day you left.
They say you have already left,
me as well as this world,
but my soldier, my love,
you are alive at some corner,
my heart says you will come,
I believe you will come...
