Chapter 1: Shadows Return

It is now the pre dawn hour as the sun is just beginning to rise, as some might say the rise of shadows. I make my presence known by spreading my aura as far as I possibly can. As my shadow persona would say, " My name is shadow. He who lurks in the shadows, in order to hunt the shadows." While basking in my aura I come to the realization that I'm going to be late for my first day as this new school or perhaps I should call it my first day at my brand new kingdom that I will rebuild. While I'm walking towards the new school, I get a funny feeling that the people that are here are all NPC's as it appears that none of them have reacted to the aura that I am spewing out. I guess that makes them either the best mobs out there or they can't actually feel the aura that I am giving off by my mere existence. While breathing in this fresh breath of air I feel my own magic growing stronger every minute I'm here. I think to myself, " It's time to introduce this world to the Lord of shadows. Today marks the beginning of the Empire of Shadows. The perfect name for what I have in store for this world along with all the other worlds. This is gonna be a gas."  People often wonder why I chose to be a mob character in my previous life when I could have easily taken control over that world if I actually wanted to. I think my reasoning behind that logic is quite simple really and that is I actually want a challenge if I'm to become the true eminence in shadow. I don't want my journey to be easy as that would simply bore myself to death. I'd rather take the road untraveled rather than the one that everyone walks. I look and realize I have almost made it to my new school and apparently it is Kuoh Academy. "What an odd name for a school" I muttered. I realize I should probably mask my aura and presence so that no one can see how truly powerful I am. Looks like it is time to go back to the good old mob mentality for me. Seeing as it my first day at this new school I instinctively head towards the main office of the school so I can see my schedule as well as getting to know they layout of this school.  As I am walking towards the main office, I bump into this woman whom I never met before. I look at her and I reply, "I'm sorry ma'am. I didn't mean to run into you. Please do accept my apology." I see her look towards my direction with the shiniest black hair and most haunting eyes I've ever seen and she responds to my comments by saying, "It is I who should be apologizing to you. You look like you are a new student here to Kuoh. Let me help you get your schedule for you. As it is the least I can do for you. By the way my name is Sona and I am the class president for this academy." Internally I am screaming as I come to realize not only has this person apologized to me but they are also offering to help me. God this can't get any worse for me today can it? There is one thing that does strike me as curious about this Sona person and that is it doesn't seem like she is trying to actively hide her aura from me. Does this mean she actually thinks that lowly of me that she openly taunts my abilities by flexing her aura. It actually starts to annoy me to the point that I'm actively displaying my emotions of disgust on my face. So I decide to reply to her by saying, " Well it is an honor and a privilege to meet you madam Sona. Your beauty is truly breathtaking. I would be honored if you could kindly show me my schedule along with the locations of my classes. If that is within the realm of your possibilities. Also my name is Cid. Cid Kagenou." I notice that Sona's face was getting as red as one's face cant get after being complimented like that. She reply's, "My my. A gentleman at heart. " I chuckle at the mention of what Sona had said. I think she heard my laughter. Sona once she finishes chuckling at my response replies to me by saying, " You are quite the interesting character there Cid. Anyways, I have your class schedule all pulled up and it looks like you are starting in class 3-B. If you would be so kind as to follow me to your class I'd appreciate that." My face twists when I hear this. I think to myself that this has to be the dumbest way for a class grade setting to possibly exist. But on the bright side there is some good news when it comes to my classes and that is it doesn't appear that I'm going to start as a freshman. Rather, I will be starting as a sophomore. I'll take the wins wherever I can get them. I think that Sona may have heard my thoughts in regards to how the classes are structured as she responds. " Sorry if this is different than what you are used to. usually it doesn't take people too long to get acclimated with the climate that is the school." I really need to learn how to make my thoughts quiet so people cant have a possible clue as to what I'm either thinking or planning. Sona then leads me out of the main office and directs me to my homeroom class. While walking there, I accidentally bump into this crimson haired beauty. I quickly look at her and say, "Oh ma'am. I am so sorry for what just happened. Please do accept my apologies as I was just on my way to homeroom." She immediately responds with, " Ah Sona I see this is the new student you were talking about. Anyways apologies accepted. My name is Rias Gremory by the way. hope you enjoy your time here at the academy." I'm in awe at how similar Rias is to Alexia's sister Iris. I then look at Rias and say, " Well thanks Rias and my name is Cid by the way. It is nice meeting you." I realize that Rias is trying to get a gauge of what power I'm holding. However, I block her from finding out by cloaking my aura even more and hiding it within the deepest part of my soul to where no one can find it. Sona cuts and says, "Come on Cid. Let's get you to your homeroom class." I quickly follow Sona to my homeroom and she opens the door to the class room and she introduces me as the newest transfer student for Kuoh Academy. I then say, " My name is Cid Kagenou. I'm someone who doesn't exactly have any type of hobbies. I also don't want to cause any troubles so I won't be answering any questions about me." I say this fully expecting there to be some backlash in regards to the comments that I made about answering questions. The professor cuts in and says, "Well Cid, go to your seat. That would be next to Issei Hyoudou." I walk to the seat next to Issei and I realize something about Issei and that is he gives off the most perverted aura from someone I have ever met. Note to self, never introduce Issei to shadow garden. The school day proceeds to go by rather quickly as I avoid interacting with anyone. As the day ends here at the school, I leave the building I run into the last person I was expecting to be here. I look at her and I immediately recognize her and it's Alpha. I then sprint my way over towards her and I then start hugging Alpha and I start to break down in tears. I then say, "Oh Alpha. It is so good to see you. I've missed you so much." I then kiss Alpha on the cheek. Alpha then responds by saying, "Lord Shadow it is so good to see you. I have missed you too. I think it's time we head back to our base." On our way to the base I notice the sky has changed colors and I get the feeling that either someone is about to experience a really bad day or something really bas is about to happen. I then look over to Alpha and change into shadow and I say, " Alpha it is officially time for this world to know the name shadow and to also fear us. I hope you're ready for a fight." Alpha instantly replies with," My lord. like you even have to ask." So off we go and we arrive at the park where we see Issei about to be stabbed by a woman with black wings. Time for my grand introduction, I fall from the sky and as I land I destroy the fountain that I land on and I catch the attention of both the woman and Issei and they both look towards me and respond simultaneously with, "Who the fuck are you." Well here we go. I reply passionately with, " My name is shadow. He who lurks in the shadows in order to hunt the shadows."
