Publishing Announcement + Snow White Retelling

Once upon a time, a seventeen-year-old girl posted the first chapter of a Cinderella retelling to Wattpad. That day was March 7, 2015, 9 years ago as of the writing of this chapter.

The first draft of Glass Slippers was completed by summer 2015 and it has lived on Wattpad since then. It got featured by OnceUponATime! It reached over 600,000 reads! Sometimes it got revamped, sometimes it lived purely in my head. However, that last bit will soon change and I am beyond excited to share this news:

Glass Slippers is getting published October 1st, 2024!

I will be self-publishing Glass Slippers this October. It will be available for pre-order starting August 1st, in both paperback and ebook editions.

Now, you may be wondering--- 

"Why are you telling us this now? It's March."

Well, I'm so glad you asked! First off, I intend to be pretty open about my process. I will be posting a series of videos via YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, as well as on here, detailing my publishing process and timeline, and to share information with anyone who wants to self-publish but is scared to do so. You'll get sneak peeks! You'll see me tear my hair out a little bit! It's about the journey, really.

Secondly, as I've been going through and editing line by line and word by word, in addition to finding enough misplaced commas to fell a shetland pony, I also found something I'd lost somewhere around 2016; my inspiration for the series.

On April 5th the Glass Slippers series will resume on Wattpad with the Scarlet Mirror, the Snow White Retelling, featuring Sophia!

You may also now be thinking:

"Wait, what?"

"What" is the correct response. I have been wondering that myself since I started this process. It started as me just wanting to give Glass Slippers the happily ever after it never got, and now, here I am.

I'm still working out the details, but I hope to keep the first drafts of the entire series up on Wattpad and will continue through my original plan. Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, etc., will all be incoming as Glass Slippers enters a new phase of its life.

They'll also be getting new covers! 

So all this said, I'll be posting updates and so on here on my Wattpad page but more frequently on my socials (insta and discord especially) which can be found in my link tree (which I will link below).

Thank you so much everyone for your support through the years and for reading my little fairytales. The best happy ending has been getting to share it with all of you and even if you don't end up reading the published version of Glass Slippers, I hope you get a chance to enjoy the new stories that will be coming out here!
