Chapter 4-
Nico's P.O.V.

-Sunday-

I stare over at Percy.

Well, let me clarify something here. I'm waiting for Jason and him to dance so I can see what the energy is from this crowd, or at least get everyone's eyes focused on something else. That way I can dance with Will, hopefully a slow dance. I've always wanted to do that.

Jason and Piper got sidetracked though, talking to other people, and I highly doubt Percy's mind is on anything besides Annabeth. It usually isn't.

It's been a few minutes since we sat with the food. Will has finished everything that's his and I did try the desserts. They were good. I'd like them more if I wasn't sick to my stomach.

We need to be able to dance at this. I'm also listening carefully to this music, most of which I don't know, waiting for something good...

"...Which was your favorite?" He asks me.

I blink a few times, but I can't pry my eyes away. "Am I supposed to pick?" I ask.

"You don't have to, I just wasn't sure if you had a preference."

"No. They're the same to me."

"Really? I think I'm a cheesecake boy."

"Oh yeah, it was really good."

"Definitely. Probably my favorite dessert. Today is a day of learning..."

"I didn't know you had a favorite dessert."

"I think it's the one I consistently go for. Last year, I convinced Mom to get me one instead of my birthday cake. I'm never going back."

"...Very nice," I say, "What else are you learning today?"

"Today... hmm. That you clean up well, that you look so cute when you cover your ears over a kiss on the head... that I want to dance with you once you're done with your... staring."

I look over at him. Finally. "I'm sorry, what?"

"Why are you watching them so intently?" He questions instead.

"I'm waiting, obviously."

"...Oh. For their dance...?"

"For...Percy and Jason. It'll be so interesting?"

"Interesting?" He puts his elbow on the table, resting his head on his hand to keep looking at me.

"Yeah. All eyes will be on them, understandably."

"And that's... a good thing. So we can dance or for another reason?" He catches up.

"Well, it's also just them." I add. Mainly so we can get out there though.

I don't want to talk. I've talked at dances before.

"Them." He says in an ominous voice.

"What? I don't get your point."

"You said it like they're not just two dudes.... I guess they're kind of celebrities."

"Children of the big three." I clarify. Attractive ones. Ones I am personally attracted to.

"Cousins."

"We've been over that," I say, "What are you talking about?"

"Not a lot." He chuckles. "Sorry, I just want to dance. We should tell Jason to hurry up."
