A couple of days passed in a haze of regret and longing, each moment weighed down by the absence of Daniel and the heaviness of my own heart. But just as I began to entertain the possibility of reaching out to him, seeking to mend the rift that had torn us apart, Malachi returned, his presence a chilling reminder of the choice I had made.

I was sitting alone in my apartment, lost in a whirlwind of conflicting emotions, when he appeared before me once again, his smirk twisted with malicious amusement.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't little Elara, all alone and miserable," he taunted, his voice dripping with contempt.

I bristled at his words, the anger boiling up inside me like a tempest. "What do you want, Malachi?" I demanded, my voice sharp with defiance.

Malachi's smirk widened, as if he relished the opportunity to torment me. "Just thought I'd check in on my favorite mortal," he said, his tone laced with sarcasm. "How's that new life of yours working out for you?"

I clenched my fists, struggling to keep my composure in the face of his relentless taunting. "None of your business," I shot back, my voice trembling with anger.

But Malachi only laughed, the sound sending a shiver down my spine. "Oh, but it is my business, love," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "After all, I'm the one who gave you this opportunity. And I can just as easily take it away."

His words struck a nerve, reigniting the doubts and fears that had plagued me since the moment I made my decision. And as I stood there, trembling with rage and uncertainty, I knew that no matter how hard I tried to escape him, Malachi would always be one step ahead, waiting to remind me of the choice that lay ahead.

I squared my shoulders, refusing to let Malachi see how much his words affected me. "You can't control me, Malachi," I said, my voice steadier than I felt. "I made my choice, and I won't let you manipulate me into regretting it."

Malachi's eyes glittered with amusement, as if he found my defiance amusing. "Oh, Elara, always so stubborn," he remarked, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "But you can't deny the truth, can you? Deep down, you know you made the wrong choice."

I gritted my teeth, the frustration boiling inside me. "You don't know anything about me," I spat, my voice trembling with anger. "You're just a cruel trickster, toying with people's lives for your own amusement."

Malachi's smirk widened, his eyes gleaming with malice. "And what if I am?" he said, his voice low and dangerous. "What are you going to do about it, love? Cry about it? Beg for forgiveness?"

I felt a surge of defiance rising within me, fueled by the anger and frustration that had been simmering beneath the surface for far too long. "No," I said, my voice ringing with determination. "I'm going to fight back. I won't let you control me any longer."

Malachi's laughter echoed through the room, sending a chill down my spine. "Oh, Elara," he said, his voice filled with mocking amusement. "You're in for a rude awakening. But hey, don't say I didn't warn you."

Malachi's presence lingered in the room like a suffocating fog, his eyes gleaming with amusement as he watched my resolve waver.

"You think you can defy me, Lily?" he taunted, his voice low and menacing. "You're nothing but a pawn in my game, and you always will be."

I clenched my fists, refusing to let his words break me. "I'm not afraid of you," I insisted, though the tremor in my voice betrayed my bravado. "I won't let you control me anymore."

Malachi chuckled, the sound sending a shiver down my spine. "Oh, but you already have, my dear," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "You made your choice, and now you'll have to live with the consequences."

I felt a surge of anger rising within me, fueled by the injustice of my situation. "I won't let you win," I declared, my voice ringing with defiance. "I'll find a way to break free from your grasp, no matter what it takes."

Malachi's smirk widened, his eyes glittering with amusement. "We'll see about that, won't we?" he said, his voice filled with mocking amusement. "But just remember, Lily, you can't escape your fate. Sooner or later, you'll come crawling back to me."

With that chilling remark, he vanished into thin air, leaving me alone in the silence of my own despair. And as I stood there, grappling with the enormity of the challenge that lay ahead, I knew that no matter how daunting the task, I wouldn't let Malachi's darkness consume me.

As the echoes of Malachi's sinister laughter faded into the silence, a flicker of determination ignited within me. I refused to succumb to his darkness without a fight. If I was going to confront him, I needed to arm myself with knowledge.

With newfound resolve, I reached for my laptop and began to scour the internet for any information I could find about demons like Malachi. I delved into ancient texts, obscure legends, and even modern accounts of encounters with supernatural beings.

Hour after hour, I poured over the pages, piecing together fragments of knowledge like a puzzle. I learned about the intricacies of demonology, the rituals used to summon and banish such entities, and the weaknesses that could be exploited to defeat them.

But the more I learned, the more I realized the enormity of the task ahead. Malachi was no ordinary demon; he was powerful, cunning, and utterly relentless. If I was going to stand a chance against him, I needed to be prepared for anything.

With a sense of grim determination, I continued to study, immersing myself in the world of the supernatural until the early hours of the morning. And as the first light of dawn broke through the darkness, I knew that I was one step closer to facing Malachi head-on, armed with the knowledge and courage to confront him on my own terms.

Anyway I think the next chapter or two should be in Malachi's perspective but I dunno. I'll have to think about it for a while.
