7. Misunderstood

Uzi was sitting at the kitchen table, scrolling through Instagram and waiting for N to make breakfast. He was thinking and frying eggs with bacon. When breakfast was finally ready, he placed it on the plates he had prepared earlier. N sat down in front of Uzi, and they both started eating.

U: Today is Sunday, maybe... we could go somewhere?

N smiled sadly and replied to Uzi calmly.

N: I want to talk to V today and reconcile with her.

U: Oh... Okay, remember that I support you, and even if you don't reconcile, you have your own place in my room hehe~

N smiled sadly and continued eating in silence.

N stood in front of the exit door while Uzi waited for him to leave. She lightly hugged him goodbye, and he returned the embrace before leaving. Uzi was now alone in her house. After a while, she decided to freshen up from the previous night, entered the bathroom, and started her routine.

Skip time

It had been a few hours since N hadn't returned home to Uzi. She messaged him asking if everything was okay, but he didn't reply. Uzi worried that something might have happened to N, but on the other hand, could V harm N? Uzi sat on her bed, waiting for any sign from N. After a moment, she heard the sound of a notification and immediately looked at it. It was a message from N.

N ^_^:
Hi Uzi, sorry for not messaging. I reconciled with V and returned home. We can talk there; I don't want to upset V again. Come over.

Uzi felt a bit saddened by the message, knowing she wouldn't see N every day now, but she decided not to wait and quickly got ready, leaving her house and heading towards N's place.

When she arrived at his house, she texted him that she was there. She didn't have to wait long before she saw a smiling N heading her way. They hugged each other in greeting, and N suggested a walk, which Uzi agreed to. They walked in awkward silence for a while.

U: So... it means we won't see each other every day now.

N: Yeah... but it was nice ^^"

Uzi nodded and kept walking.

U: N, we never officially confirmed our relationship, did we?

Suddenly, N stopped and looked at Uzi. Confused, Uzi also stopped and looked at N.

N: Relationship?

U: Yeah... relationship.

N: Uzi...

N looked up at the sky and back at Uzi.

N: I-I'm not ready for a relationship yet.

The message shook Uzi, and she looked at him in shock.

U: What?... Y-you said you loved me.

N widened his eyes as if hearing it for the first time in his life, but after a moment, he scratched his head.

N: Y-yeah, but... I'm not ready for a relationship... What we did last night was... casual?

Uzi swallowed hard.

U: Casual?..

Uzi looked down, holding back her sadness with a sigh.

U: I...

N: I'm sorry for giving you hope.

U: No, don't apologize. I just misunderstood something; it's my fault.

When N wanted to say something, Uzi interrupted him and walked away without a word. N stood there, watching Uzi leave, and sighed deeply.
