*Sorry for the late update, the holiday had me all out of wack! But Happy holidays to those who celebrate*

The crisp morning air was filled with anticipation as Draco Malfoy arrived at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. It was his first day as a fully qualified mediwizard, and he couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

As Draco entered the bustling hospital, he was greeted by the sight of patients and healers moving about, each focused on their own tasks. He made his way to the mediwizard's lounge to meet his supervisor and receive his assignments for the day.

"Draco Malfoy, reporting for duty," he announced, stepping into the lounge where several other mediwizards were gathered.

His supervisor, a stern-looking witch with greying hair, turned to him and nodded. "Welcome, Mr. Malfoy. I'm Healer Hawthorne. I'll be overseeing your training and assignments during your probationary period."

Draco nodded, trying to appear confident as he listened to Healer Hawthorne explain his duties for the day. He was to assist in the potion-making department, preparing various potions under supervision.

As he started his work, Draco quickly immersed himself in the tasks at hand. His years of studying and training had prepared him well, and he soon proved himself to be a competent and skilled mediwizard.

Draco was diligently working on a basic potion in the potion-making department, carefully following the instructions laid out in the textbook. As a trainee mediwizard, he was responsible for mastering these foundational skills before moving on to more complex tasks.

Suddenly, a loud alarm blared through the hospital, causing Draco to stop what he was doing and look around in confusion. He could hear the sounds of urgency as healers and mediwizards rushed past him, their faces filled with determination.

"What's going on?" Draco asked, looking for someone to explain the situation.

A passing healer stopped briefly, her expression grim. "There's been a massive accident in Diagon Alley. We need everyone's help. Come on, follow me."

Draco's heart raced as he hurried to catch up with the other healers, his mind racing with thoughts of what could have happened. As they arrived at the scene, Draco's eyes widened in shock at the devastation before him.

Buildings were in ruins, debris was scattered everywhere, and injured people lay on the ground, crying out for help. Draco rushed to assist, but as he approached one injured wizard, he was met with a look of disdain.

"We don't want your help, Malfoy," the wizard spat, pushing Draco away.

Draco felt a sinking feeling in his stomach as he realized what was happening. Despite his efforts to prove himself as a skilled and compassionate healer, his past as a former Death Eater and his family's history seemed to precede him.

He tried to approach another injured person, but again he was met with resistance. "We'd rather die than accept help from a Malfoy," a witch muttered, turning away from him.

Draco felt a mixture of frustration and hurt, but he knew that he couldn't let it deter him. He continued to assist where he could, focusing on the patients who were willing to accept his help.

As Draco continued to help where he could he heard footsteps approaching him. He turned to see Hermione Granger, accompanied by Harry Potter and other Aurors

"Draco, what a day you must be having," Hermione said, her voice carrying a mix of sympathy and professionalism as she surveyed the scene. "I'm here to assess the damages for the legal proceedings. Quite a mess, isn't it?"

Draco nodded, grateful for Hermione's understanding tone. "Yes, it's been... eventful, to say the least."

"I can only imagine," Hermione replied, scanning the area. "I heard there was quite a commotion earlier. Some people didn't want your help, I gather?"

Draco hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "Yes, there were a few... incidents. But I've been doing my best to help where I can."

Hermione nodded, her expression thoughtful. "Well, it's a testament to your character that you're still here, doing what you can to assist. I know it can't be easy."

Draco appreciated Hermione's understanding and felt relief that she was not here to interrogate him about his past. "Thank you, Hermione. It's been a challenging day, but I'm determined to make a difference."

"I have no doubt about that," Hermione said with a reassuring smile. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. And if you ever want to talk about your experiences today, I'm here."

As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the hospital, Draco made his way back to St. Mungo's. The events of the day had left him physically and emotionally drained, but a sense of satisfaction lingered beneath the weariness. He headed towards the mediwizard's lounge to gather his belongings and prepare to leave for the day.

As he was about to leave, Healer Hawthorne appeared, her expression softer than usual. "Draco, I wanted to speak with you before you left," she said, her voice carrying a note of genuine appreciation.

Draco turned to face her, curiosity piqued. "Is everything alright, Healer Hawthorne?"

She nodded, a faint smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "More than alright, Draco. I wanted to commend you on your work today. Despite the challenges you faced, you handled yourself admirably out in the field."

Draco was taken aback by the praise, his exhaustion momentarily forgotten. "Thank you, Healer Hawthorne. I... I just did what I could to help."

Healer Hawthorne shook her head. "No, you did more than that. You showed compassion, determination, and a true dedication to healing others. I'm proud to have you as part of our team."

Draco felt a swell of pride at her words, a warm feeling spreading through him. "Thank you, Healer Hawthorne. That means a lot to me."

Healer Hawthorne placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "You're welcome, Draco. Now, go home and rest. You've earned it."

As he left the hospital, Draco couldn't help but smile. Despite the challenges he had faced, he knew that he was on the right path. He was a healer, and nothing could take that away from him.
