Chapter 6

I awoke from my drowse, barely sleeping, thinking about what I did the past day to that hero, atleast I thought It was hero

What did I just do yesterday?
Was It...a good choice? I mean he would've known my face, I wouldn't be able to go back, right? Do they know what happened here? Maybe I could've flown away? No, he would have got me... No he wouldn't

Suddenly the sound of blades ripping through the air outside of my den, normally these would be helicopters travelling to other places, flying over the forest, now this was different, patrol helicopters flying over the area, blue in color and getting closer to my position

I swiftly went on the ground to hide my prescence with the trees and get to the meeting point I had with Koda

Once reaching there he wasnt there, strange considering he was a very puntual boy, almost never reaching late, though after a few minutes of waiting I saw him, agitated and out of breath he started talking to me

Koji: Uff-Puff He-hey King, sorry I-uff reached late, there-Puff was a bit of secur-security around the forest and I had to run a bit to n-not get seen

Yn: Screch (Uhh, do you know why are they in the forest?)

I asked worriedly, hoping It wasn't what I was thinking of

Koji: Ehh-Ufff Oh yeah, in the news, It seemed like there was a crime commited around this area, but I didn't have time to see more about them

Yn. Scr-Screeh (Oh-Oh, well what a misfortune, anyways is there anyth-)

I tried changing the topic, hoping that he didn't investigate further on the supposed criminal around the forest

Koji: Oh dont worry King, I can see the news in my phone right now to see what happened

Yn: Screech (Ehh, dont worry It isnt as Bg of a deal, we could just leave It as is, besides the police should stop comming after a few days)

Koji: Still, Im quite curious about what happened here

Yn: ...

As he started scrolling through his phone, trying to find any news about the forest I was speachless, not muttering even a single sound, just hoping, no, praying that he didn't found anything of revelance

Koji: Ohh, here It is, Musutafu forest incident

He read outloud with interest, he then clicked the link and a video of a news reporter interviewing someone with an exotic costume, what I presume to be a hero

Interviwer: So, miss, when was the crime against pro hero Iron Fist commited?

???: The death of Iron Fist might have occured between midnight and an hour later, that was the last time he talked in our radio and before I found his body

Interviwer: So, do you have any leads about the villain who might have done this?

???: Very few leads, the only things we know about him is how he kills and how he sounds

Interviwer: Is It posible that you could elaborate more on that, please?

???:Tch, the villain always kills with some kind of piercing weapon that leave distinguishable marks on the nearby enviroment, with deep holes. He also doesnt leave any evidence of the victims besides the blood spilled in the ground, which is why its strange that he left my companion's body in peace

Interviwer: And what about how he sounds, that could maybe help the autorities recognize him

???: I assure you not, besides its quite haunting, though I have recordings of the sound It made thanks to a microphone required to do hero duty

Interviwer: Is It available for you to show those recordings now on public

???: Of course, though It is scary, specially during that time

The female hero then starts rummaging around his suit trying to find something, taking out her phone and placing It near the microphone, the recording starts quietly, only footsteps being heard, suddenly a scream comming from what I presume was this Iron Fist hero, then the slow footsteps gained speed and the agitated sounds of the runner are able to be heard clearly, then

Recording:-Screeeccchhhh-

Yn: ....

Koji turned off his mobile phone, no words leaving his mouth, I tried to defend myself but no words were spoken, then he started walking backwards whilst keeping sight on me, a face mixed with disgust, fear and worst of all, disappointment, after some time, he fully turned and started to run in to the city m, back home I presumed, I too leaved the area, with a sour taste in my mouth and a busy mind

3 Days Later

Its been a few days since the incident, he hasnt come to our meeting point, yet I still come at the same hour to wait for him to come back, if he even comes back

In a moments notice I heard shuffling in the nearby bushes, so I quickly start to fly above the leaves of the trees, only to hear

Koji: Dont worry King, its me

I then fall out of the trees branches in surprise of the one talking

Yn: Screech (Ehhh, you're back, but why?)

Koji: I just wanted to know why? Why did you...kill him?

Yn: Screech (Look, he saw me, if he got away he would've told everyone about me!)

Koji: That is so selfish, he could've have friends, family!

Yn: Scr-screech (St-still, they were after me, why would they even be patrolling in the forest! He got what he wanted to find)

Koji: Why would they even be after you?!  The only thing killing you did were those bullies, and that was a looong time ago

Yn: Scree- (Look, I-I didn't do anyth-)

Koji: The news also talked about the previous murders

Yn: ...

Koji: Hmm?

Yn: screech (those were criminals, besides, I was starving)

I excused myself in a lowly tone

Koji: But I feed you almost everyday with bones? Yet you sti-

Yn: SCREECH (IM NOT GOING BACK TO EATING BONES LIKE A DOG!)

Koji: ...

Yn: ... Screech (Sorry for screaming at you)

Koji sighed

Koji: What do I do with you now?

Yn: Screeech (Look, I'll only kill and eat criminals and villains comming here, no heroes nor civilians)

Koji: Even if they see you?

Yn: Screech (Even if they see me, I will just fly away)

Koji: Still, why do you need to eat people, I thought bones were enough for you

Yn: Screech (Bones are tasteless and I hate them with passion, also lack of meat causes me difficult for flight)

Koji: Really, killing just for that?

Yn Screeech (Hey, there might other side effects, even death!)

I exagerated infront of him, though It was in some way true

Koji: Well, just watch out who are you killing and try to not do It often, It feels strange being the fri- known one of a serial killer

Yn: Screch (Soo, are we buddies again?)

Koji: ... Uhh, yes I guess?

Yn: Screech (Perfect, I was feeling bad 'bout this stuff, anyways, see ya tomorrow)

I screamed, flying away to my nest to rest for another day
