Chapter 2

Mike, Josh, Heather, and Y/N drive to a motel.

Josh: Thank God, she's not in the film business. l mean, can you imagine working with her?

Heather: She thinks she is in the film business. She also says she's a ballerina. She says she's a historian writing a book on American history...

Josh: l heard that.

Heather: ...and that she's a scientist who does research at the Department of Energy.

Y/N: Exactly.

They continue to drive.

Josh: l fucked up on Mary. I'm checking my depth of field chart to see how bad.

Heather: So, you measured for meters? What? We're not in Europe.

Josh: Yeah, well, the fucking lens has meters on it, okay.

Y/N: It also has our system.

Josh: No, it had meters on it. Look.

Josh gives Y/N and Heather the camera.

Heather: This is an American camera, though.

Josh: All those are meters.

Heather: What about the brown ones?

Y/N: The brown ones are feet.

Heather: Yeah, the brown ones are on there, right?

Josh: Yeah, but the white ones are obvious.

Heather: But I thought you've used this camera before, man.

Josh: I've used it, like, once before.

The camera cuts to Mike, Josh, Heather, and Y/N in a motel.

Heather: How do we feel about today, guys?

Y/N: Pretty, damn good.

Mike: l learned a lot, man.

Josh: Yeah.

Heather: You learned a lot about Mary Brown?

Josh: No, I learned a lot about, like, fucking...

Heather: Sixteen?

Josh: Just shooting out here. Just shooting doc.

Y/N grabs three beers and gives two to Mike and Josh and one to himself.

Josh: We kicked some ass today. Cheers to you.

Heather: Very good day.

Josh: Excellent day.

Y/N: Very good first day.

Heather: Okay, we're going to do an equipment check, but I'm going to call my mom.

Mike: Okay, I've got a bag of Utz and a beer.

Heather: And we don't really need to get that on film.

They laugh.

Heather: So, I guess you're covered, then.

Y/N, Josh, Heather, and Mike begin to check the equipment.

Heather: Could you just run it for a couple of feet for me so we can check that it's okay?

Josh: Sure.

Josh picks up the camera and aims it towards Heather.

Heather: I just wants to hear if this mag is loaded properly, so we can shoot some stuff.
