"Hello?" Dean shouted from the porch.

"Do you come bearing pizza?" Lorelai asked.

"I'm not an idiot." He replied.

"Then get your ass in here." I said.

"What are we watching?" He asked.

"The Incomparable Donna Reed Show." She said.

"Whats in there?" Rory asked Dean about the brown bag next to the pizzas.

"A salad." Dean said.

"A salad?" I asked getting the plates.

"Yes, it's a quaint dish sometimes used to proceed large quantities of pizza." Dean said. All three of us gave him a dirty look. "It's for me."

"Clearly." Rory replied.

"So, who's Donna Reed?" Dean asked.

"What?" Rory asked.

"You don't know who Donna Reed is? The quintessential '50's mom with the perfect family?" Lorelai asked.

"Never without a smile and high heels?" Rory said.

"Hair that if you hit it with a hammer, it would crack?" Lorelai added.

"So, it's a show?" He asked.

"It's a lifestyle." I replied. "My favourite episode, is when their som, Jeff, comes home from school and nothing happens."

"Oh, that's a good one." Lorelai said.

It was Friday night dinner at grandma and grandpa's house again, they had bought in a new bottle of wine home which me and my mother devoured.

"Kick-ass wine." My mother said.

"Hm, how poetic." My grandmother replied. "Hilary, how is that boyfriend of yours, Tristan was it?"

My grandmother was trying hard to get on my good side again which is strange for the high and mighty Emily Gilmore.

"He is doing great." I said to her.

"Lovely." She said.

"So, when do you guys leave for Martha's vineyard?" Rory asked.

"Ah, we're not going to Martha's Vineyard this year." Grandpa said.

"Really, why not?" I asked.

"Our usual rental wasn't available when we inquired, late." He said staring daggers at my grandmother.

"We should've just bought the place years ago." Grandma said.

"It wouldn't have been prudent." He replied.

"Now, we have no place to go next week." Grandma said.

"You guys could always go somewhere else." Rory said.

"We always go to the vineyard this time of year." Grandpa said.

"You could always break the chain, dad. Go to Paris." Lorelai said.

"Yes, Paris." Rory replied.
