KAIA HAD HER headphones blasting as she attempted to ignore the awkward atmosphere that surrounded her as she continued down the stairs in between Aiden and Ashlyn despite wanting to be anywhere else in that moment. Aiden and Ashlyn hadn't spoken all morning and it made Kaia remember everything Ashlyn had yelled at Aiden for last night but she said nothing. It wasn't her business, those two could make it up on their own.
At least that's what she keeps repeating in her mind as she listens to the playlist Aiden made for her. She was admittedly a little worried as her eyes bounced between the two at either side of her. She didn't like the awkwardness between them. Aiden had been perfectly fine with her all up until the bus when Ashlyn boarded and suddenly he went oddly silent. Ashlyn also didn't speak a word other than a small thanks when Kaia gave her some cookies that Ben and her mom had made last night.
"You guys are getting on my nerves." Tyler suddenly snaps as he stops on the platform just between staircases, turning around to look between Aiden and Ashlyn as he nods for Kaia to join his side which Kaia does quickly, wanting nothing more than to be anywhere else but beside them. "How are we supposed to 'celebrate' when you're ruining the good mood with awkwardness? You're even making Kaia uncomfortable."
Kaia hit him on his shoulder, "don't bring me into this."
Tyler rolled his eyes as Taylor shoots him a scolding look as well before turning to look back at the silent duo with a nervous smile. "What Tyler means is that you both seem a bit tense, there's about 10 minutes before class, how about you guys talk things out and we'll go grab some snacks?"
