Robyn arrived back at her apartment. She had been ultra positive for Riley although she wasn't completely sure everything would work out. She could see herself sacked in the morning. The only thing she was sure of was Riley. She didn't want her to go. The thought of the biker breaking up with her played in her mind and she catastrophized the future. She inadvertently found herself in tears, just thinking about the brunette no longer being part of her life.

Her door startled her. It would be Demi early. She hadn't prepared anything for dinner which meant they would be on stir fry or takeaway. Yeah takeaway. She didn't fancy cooking as she got up from the sofa and headed for the door.

"Hey" Demi smiled hand in hand with a blonde.

Shit, she forgot they were meeting Melanie tonight. "Hey. Hi you'll be the Mel we've heard so much about. Robyn." She shakes her friend's partner's hand. "You'd better come in."

"What no lasagna?" Demi noticed the lack of the smell of garlic. As she and Mel took a seat on the sofa, next to Victor. Robyn sat on the one arm chair, shaking her head annoyed fhst she forgot that Melanie was coming tonight.

"Yeah sorry I had something on and I actually forgot to make the bolognese last night."

"You okay?" Melanie asked. "You look like you've been crying."

"Yeah sorry." Robyn half smiled.

"What's up?"

"Nothing, I'll be fine. Drinks. No pasta but plenty of wine. We'll order something in when Cheryl gets here. Sorry Melanie, I'm usually a lot more organized than this."

"Has this got anything to do with Sam?" The PE teacher asked.

"Dem, I'm not seeing Sam."

"She took you out for valentines."

"No, she showed up with flowers and I sent her away. She's harassing me. I just want her to go away and I'd rather not ruin the night by talking about her."

Cheryl arrived a few minutes later and lifted the mood with stories from her new found poly dating life. Melanie was nice and it was good to see Demi trying a relationship, she appeared different, softer, more considerate. Mel was good for her. Robyn decided as she loaded the rinsed plates into the dishwasher. She messaged Riley and waited for the call.

Less than a minute later her girlfriend's gorgeous face was filling her phone screen.

"Hey beautiful. How are you feeling now?" The biker asked as she set her cell down on the bedside stand.

"I've been better, but I'm so glad you told me. I guess we need to think of a break up story she'll believe and then just create a story to explain the photos if they get out."

"I've been thinking about that. I think we might get away with me helping you out with your luggage and you dropping me off, Coach Fleet has seen me at the apartment block a few times. I told her I have a friend that lives there. You could say that you weren't thinking when you offered me a lift."

"I don't really want to involve Demi, she could get into trouble too."

"I'm not suggesting that we involve her just that if anyone was asking around she would be able to say that she's seen me there."

"What if she has other photos?"

"I don't see how. The only other time we've been out since she showed up was Valentine and she was expecting you to be alone. I would have seen her if she was in the hallway outside your door and I could be visiting anyone who lives in your block."

Robyn smiled. She hoped the student was right, "so how are we going to sell a break up, what were you thinking when you were thinking of actually doing it?"

"Well I thought about a few things. But I think as t sure you would believe me if I said that I didn't want you anymore. So I was going to say that I was fed up not seeing you and that today when I wasn't at school I cheated with someone else. I'm sorry but…"

"It had to be something that would really hurt me."

"Yeah." Riley lowered her gaze. "I'm sorry. I feel horrible for even thinking about it."

"No. You're right. It's the only thing that would have made me hate you enough to break up."

"Don't worry, I'd never. One because I don't want anyone the way I want you and two I love you too much to hurt you. Which is why I had to tell you. I don't want to ever make you cry."

Robyn smiled. "I don't want to make you cry again either. I know I have in the past. But now it's you and me."

The biker nodded. "So when do we start this uo?"

"Well. I think she's likely to show up at mine expecting me to fall back into her arms. So if she does I'll play the part but I will have to make it look real so I guess I will stop doing housework now. She'll expect me to be completely broken, she's seen me when she done it. If she does show up with you I guess you have to let her know it's done."

"Yeah I'm likely to be flat and pissed, I think that she'll be expecting me to be angry. Just one thing, are you still coming on the soccer trip at the weekend?"

"Yeah. I'm going to have to be off with you. In case she's watching. I'm sorry, remember it's not real."

"Yeah and when I avoid you to try keep my distance. That's not real either."

"Just don't flirt with anyone else please."

"What if, nah."

"Ry, say it."

"What if she's got someone there to test us?"

The teacher smiled, "still don't flirt just tell them you've just been through a break up. If she is watching she's going to be expecting you to be upset too."

"Yeah, can we talk about something else now. I don't want to think about how we orchestrate a break up." Riley smiled. "I miss you. I miss lying next to you and holding you."

"Yeah this is shit. I miss you too. I should've kissed you for hours earlier. Stored it up until we can be together again. Even Victor misses you although he has occupied your side of the bed."

"Well as long as he is aware he has to share. I'm happy that you're getting some cuddles."

"How's things been with your Dad?"

"Aww you know the usual. But I felt good about school yesterday and I didn't let him bring me down."

"Yeah you said the base went well. I should've pushed it, whether I thought you would listen or not but I'm glad things are moving now."

"Yeah. They have already helped with the coursework. Joan was amazing."

"Joan is it?" Robyn smiled, "have I got to worry about Joan."

"Nah. You're good." The brunette grinned.
