The Cove

We anchored the ship a good distance away from the cove, so we would be out of cannon fire if they had any.

Everyone was lined up on deck.
Amy, Rouge, and Infinite stood at my sides.

It was much more helpful now that we had someone who knew Mephiles's Cove inside and out. However Infinite was still weaker from being attacked. Sarah told him to stay in the infirmary but he insisted on being present on deck.

Now that I had found out that Gadget and him had an affair behind our backs, it back so much more sense of why he always disappeared during certain supply runs.

Whisper was also the woman that Tangle had told us about in the tavern. She had promised the lemur she would come back to see her again one day, but turns out fate decided they would meet on another ground.

I looked at my crew with proud admiration.
We had become stronger and closer together than ever.
But...
I really prayed and hoped Sonic was safe.

Infinite and Whisper told us he was keeping him alive for some sort of deal.
So, if luck was on our side, Sonic would be safe and unharmed.

His earring was now on my ear instead. Rouge had helped me in piercing it.
It was my connection to Sonic somehow, it made me feel close to him.

Plus he never took off his earrings and this was an honor just to have one.

Tails and Metal both panicked when they found out Mephiles had Sonic but now they were most determined to get him back.

We stood on deck, looking at the cove in the distance.

"Today, crew, we blow this place to pieces, and send Mephiles to Davy Jones's Locker!" I said with a determined smile.

They cheered and drew their swords.

"We're going to rescue our crew and Sonic and all the many people Mephiles has enslaved!"

They cheered again.

"Now, let's fight!"

They roared, and ran towards the rowboats.

We had four boats, split up into groups.

I was with Rouge, Amy, Tails, Kit, and Metal tasked to finding Sonic, Amy's compass, and possibly the Master Emerald.

Blaze, Cream, Midnight, and Omega were in the boat with the explosives and gunpowder, they were going to set the explosions.

Gadget, Honey, Sarah, Espio, Silver, and Vector were going to find the Captains and hold them off.

Then Bunnie, Big, and Charmy were tasked in rally people to get them out of the cove.

Our boats silently moved towards the cove, covered by the fog of the Black Sea.

Once our boat bumped against the rock, Amy dropped the anchor and we quietly climbed out.
I could hear shouts growing in the distance as the third boat ran in to fight.

Then there was shouting everywhere.
The mobians that were being enslaved had taken note of our presence and Bunnie, Big, and Charmy easily lead a revolt against Mephiles's crew.

It's almost like they knew we were coming...

We continued to move through the chaos, dodging fists and large crates being thrown and bullets.

Then Rouge stopped and immediately screamed with joy.
She ran towards a tall rugged echidna that I could recognize anywhere.

"KNUCKLES!" She exclaimed, hugging her fiancé tightly.
