The day of the Royal Ball

Someone's pov -

Royals from other acquainted nations,  government officials , celebrities and many local citizens waiting for the first dance to start , waiting to see the face of the person who is next in line for the throne aka The Prince
There was a sudden shift in the atmosphere of the ballroom when Chan The King clincked his champagne glass with a spoon to gain the attention of people who were chatting away , everyone turned towards his majesty at the call of attention , the room went dark with the spotlight being on the King And Queen alone
"Ladies and gentleman today Is the day you all will be officially introduced to the future of this kingdom , my dearest son , Felix " Chan announced and spotlight jumped from him to Felix who was standing on the staircase with his date , Ryujin . The spotlight followed them as they came downstairs and stood in the middle of the ballroom
"Are you all ready for the first dance of the Royal spring ball by our dearest Felix of Ivor and  Ryujin of Sakaris " the queen cheered as the loud music started And the light came back
Ryujin and felix according to the tradition started the ball with their dance and others joined after
Hyunjin couldn't take his eyes off the prince and he had no idea or maybe he did it was almost as if he was enchanted by him
"Hyunjin stop fucking staring at him " yeji snapped him out of his enchantment
"Sorry " he mumbled and started dancing taking  yeji's hand in his , eyes still lingering on felix's dancing figure
When they switched their partners Hyunjin ended up with Felix's partner and Felix with Hyunjin's
"Good evening Yeji " Felix whispered as he held onto her waist
"Good evening Felix " yeji replied placing her hands on his shoulders
Felix pulled her closer and rested his head in the crook of her neck , her whole body shivered at gesture
"Are you really his girlfriend? Or did he just hire you ?" Felix whispered
"Why would he hire me to be his girlfriend " yeji replied
"Maybe not to be his girlfriend but maybe to kill me " Felix breathed out and yeji stopped all her movements
"Keep dancing " Felix ordered "your reactions tell me I'm right " he exclaimed
"Yes yes you're right " yeji mumbled
"You're going to kill me aren't you ?" She asked
"No you're not getting killed or punished " Felix replied
"Not by anyone related to me atleast " he added
"What do you mean " she asked
"Does he know who you are ?" Felix asked
"He does I'm shin yeji an orphan he was the one who found me passed out on the street when I was four " yeji answered
"Wrong answer Hwang yeji " Felix scoffed
"You're that man's daughter , the heiress of Hwang industries his secret weapon " Felix countered
"How - how do you know this " yeji stuttered
"What do you want from him and me ?" Felix asked
"I have a mission to kill both of you " she replied
"And you found the right opportunity to do it didn't you ?" He asked
"Ofcourse I did I was planted by my father in jennie's household to keep an eye on them and you " she explained
"Now yeji your best interest right now would be to quietly dance with ryujin in the next partner switch and leave right after that and to never come near him again" Felix threatened
Yeji scoffed and chuckled but her blood went cold when she felt a cold and sharp metal object being dragged from her nape to her lower back
"You said you wouldn't kill me " she gasped
"I didn't say I wouldn't hurt you" Felix clapped back
"Fine I'll do whatever you say " yeji implied and felix removed the dagger at the partner switch and pushed her towards ryujin
Ryujin simultaneously pushed hyunjin making him land straight in felix's arm
"Hello pretty boy " Felix whispered his voice deeper than the pacific ocean and his face twisted with pleasure
"Hey my prince " hyunjin replied his voice faint and a smile decorating his face
"So what is it this time?" Felix asked
"What ?" Hyunjin asked
"Your plan to get me killed by yeji ?" He voiced and hyunjin froze in his place
"Ho-how ?did she tell you?" Hyunjin uttered
"No hyunjin were you really thinking you would sit in my kingdom,  my palace , plan my death and I would never find out ?" Felix scoffed
"You knew , you knew all along didn't you ?" Hyunjin echoed
"I had my suspicions and after finding out who you were when I looked you up it all made sense and you confirmed it yourself by bringing yeji to the palace " Felix articulated
"Fuck how " hyunjin mumbled
"You're really stupid if you ask me " he taunted
"Also if you want me dead stop being a fucking coward and kill me those very beautiful hands of yours because any other method is not gonna work" Felix declared
"Why ? Why are you doing this ? When I know you're going to tell everyone and get me killed or punished or thrown out of the kingdom " hyunjin blurted out
"If your oath Hyunjin is to kill me , mine is to die at your hands and your hands alone " Felix whispered and the song stopped
Hyunjin immediately stepped away from felix and looked for yeji but she was nowhere to be found after he gave up on searching for her he realized that felix , ryujin and seungmin weren't in the room either , he ran to minho who had been standing near the bar having some drinks
"Minho hyunh do you know where Felix is ?" He asked trying to catch his breath
"You just called him by his name ? What's wrong ?" Minho asked
"Please just tell me where his highness is " he begged
"He went upstairs with seungmin and ryujin " minho replied and hyunjin sprinted upstairs almost tripping because of his fast pace , he searched the entirety of the upper floor but didn't found any of them
"Oh Hyunjin are you scared " A deep voice echoed in the dark library making a shiver run down Hyunjin's spine
"Your highness " hyunjin replied
"I thought I told you not to call me that " Felix whispered as he snaked his one arm around hyunjin's waist and the other around his throat , he didn't choke him though , it was a lingering touch but it was still danger to Hyunjin
"You're going to kill me " Hyunjin scoffed
"I can't " Felix replied
"One of your hand's is around my neck , you have a dagger in your other hand which is wrapped around my waist , your bestfriend is standing at the maximum distance of 10 feet and your date is watching all of this from behind the 4th shelf in the third row in this situation that dialogue just seems like a consolation before you either snap my neck or stab me" Hyunjin Hissed
There was no response hyunjin could only hear his own breathing and heavy heartbeat until the clank of a metal object was heard
Felix had dropped the dagger
"I promised jen I would never let anything or anyone harm you so how could I myself do it ?" Felix whispered as he let go of Hyunjin
"You can hurt me , kill me or do whatever you want I would never hurt you " Felix mumbled and walked out of the library
