Aiden's POV:-

As we joked, his phone rang. He answered, and Jimmy's tone turned serious. "We have to leave for a week or two. It's urgent."

"But..." I hesitated. "I wanted to see her before leaving."

"There's no time for this, Aid. Don't worry, I'll manage things here," Jimmy reassured.

"I trust you,Jimmy... let's go."

Days passed quickly as we dove into work. Now, I ache to feel her in my arms again. Leaving her alone is agonizing, but my family business is not good as it seems. The thought of her discovering my darker side hurts deeply.

For now, I can only hope she's doing well...

A few hours later...

A knock on my door interrupted my thoughts. "Aiden, you awake, bro?"

I opened the door to see a bright smile on Jim's face. "Whoa, your face is so bright I can't endure it with my eyes."

"I found out about Aurora's friends and family," Jim exclaimed.

"Weren't you busy with other things?" I asked.

"Of course, but this is important," Jim replied, showing me what he had discovered.

"This is messed up, but I understand the problem. Tomorrow, we'll leave this place in the morning now that everything settled, okay?"

"Yeah," he agreed.

After Jim left, I lay back in bed, consumed by thoughts of her. The distance between us is driving me crazy.

Aurora's POV:-

I foolishly hoped for Aiden's arrival the next day, but Jim called to inform me of his sudden departure for a meeting, without mentioning when he'd return.
Cole hadn't shown up for three days, and when he finally did, his bruised face describes everything. I wasn't ready to face him, but I couldn't shake the belief that Aiden was responsible for Cole's bruises. He didn't looked at me and We didn't speak.

It had only been a few days, but it felt like an eternity. My room became my sanctuary as I waited for Cole to leave each morning so I could venture to the kitchen.

Despite constantly thinking of Aiden, doubts gnawed at me. What if he was intentionally ignoring me? Perhaps he saw me as a nuisance for involving him in my troubles.
Tears streamed down my cheeks .
Catching my reflection in the mirror, I noticed my swollen eyes, disheveled hair, and rumpled clothes. "I can't remain like this," I resolved. After a refreshing bath, I opted for a black t-shirt and trousers. Venturing out to the bookstore, I picked up a new book and savored a cold coffee while reading in the café. Time slipped away, and before I knew it, it was already 5 in the evening.
Driving back home, I changed into a comfortable tee and shorts before immersing myself in writing my novel, which had been on hold for some time. Days passed in this routine, and now I find solace in visiting the café daily, indulging in their exquisite coffee paired with caramel cookies.

Today, I wore a beige frock with black flats, feeling a bit more hopeful. At the bookstore, I won a limited edition book in a giveaway, brightening my day even more. As I sat in the café, enjoying my favorite coffee and cookies, my phone rang. Seeing "Aiden" on the caller ID filled me with happiness, and I eagerly answered.

"Hello?"

"Cariad," his voice warmed my heart.

"Yes," I replied with a smile.

"Turn around, baby."

"Are you serious?" I laughed, turning to see him holding a bouquet. I ran to him, enveloping him in a hug.

"I missed you, Cariad," he confessed.

"I missed being called Cariad," I admitted, blushing.

"You're so pretty, Aurora," he said, causing me to blush even more.
"I-I am not, but you are seriously hot," I blurted out without thinking.

"You think I'm hot?" He seemed pleasantly surprised.

"Oh, sorry, please don't mind," I stammered, embarrassed.

"Not at all, I was just a little surprised," he reassured me.

I held onto him tightly, captivated by the depths of his eyes. They were like a dark ocean, drawing me in with their mysterious allure. His dark gray eyes seemed to be crafted by angels themselves.

Despite being in public, it felt as though we were the only two people in the world as we maintained eye contact. I attempted to pull away gently, but his gaze held me in place.
"Don't," he whispered.

Confused, I questioned, "Don't what?"

"Don't pull away," he insisted.

Concerned about onlookers, I hesitated, "But what if someone sees us like this?"

"It doesn't matter," he reassured me, his words sending a flutter through my stomach.
"Just look at me like this for a few more minutes."

"As you wish," I obeyed, unable to resist his intensity.

As we stood there, engrossed in each other's company, the sound of a camera click broke the moment. We turned to find someone capturing our interaction.

"You both looked absolutely stunning like this, so I took a picture for you. Hope you don't mind," the stranger said, handing us the photo.

"You guys make a beautiful couple," he added. As I prepared to clarify our relationship, Aiden subtly halted me with a shake of his head, prompting me to remain silent.

Afterward, we enjoyed sandwiches and coffee together. My love for coffee knows no bounds; I could easily indulge in it for 24 hours straight. Later Aiden kindly dropped me home, mentioning his busy schedule.

Though unsure of his feelings, I couldn't ignore the sensational energy between us.
The realization hits me like a wave – he called me "baby" today. Why didn't I pick up on it earlier?

Now, with my mind racing and emotions swirling, it's best to put it all aside and get some rest. Time to sleep.
