"and they've just been avoiding each other since" Ava explained the situation when she was with Regina in her room a couple days later

"they definitely hooked up" Regina claimed from where she was sitting in the middle of the bed

"yeah no" Ava stood up from the chair beside the study table "they wouldn't do that"

"what makes you think that? they're young and fairly attractive" Regina said  straightening her back

"did you just call them attractive?"

"yeah?"

"do you think I am attractive?" Ava walked closer to the bed sitting on the edge

"shut up, loser" regina hid her smile as she threw a pillow at Ava to shit her up

"that doesn't answer my question" Ava shifted closer "do you think I am attractive, George?" she let her eyes meet regina's

"no, you look like a sack of shit" Regina laughed "weirdo"

"okay, rude" Ava laughed along "I better get going"

"why?" Regina got up

"because I have to go?" Ava chuckled but felt a burning sensation in her chest

"yeah, I mean not like I care or anything but it's like raining outside"

"yeah, I am not gonna walk. I have my car and it has a roof"

"i was just looking out for you but nevermind" regina looked away

"or" Ava read regina's actions "i could stay and we could get the intro to organic chemistry done, it's a wide concept you know"

"yeah, whatever" regina got up and gathered her notes, Ava following suite

after some time

"I'll be right back" regina said walking towards the bathroom

Ava took this opportunity to pick up regina's notes and see if the paper was empty.

it wasn't, regina had been writing all the important keywords and explanation that Ava was saying. regina was actually listening to ava talking about something as boring as organic chem

regina returned a few minutes later and the two resumed the sesh.

"quiz me" regina said

"what?"

"quiz me, loser"

"oh uh sure" Ava racked her brain "what's the reagent used in Stephen's reaction?"

"stannous chloride?" regina answered, unsure

"yeah" Ava exclaimed making Regina smile "wow"

"i know" she said

Ava looked into Regina's eyes and this time she really noticed the blue which has a bit of grey in them

"what?" regina asked

"nothing?" Ava shook her head when she realised

she does like Regina George

"finally" Jonathan exclaimed when the two met by the lockers and she told him about her realisation earlier

"shut up" she rolled her eyes

"yeah, no" he smiled cheekily at her "anyway, there's this Halloween party you wanna come with?"

"is Darcy coming?" Ava asked knowing the answer damn well

"yeah, i don't know" he said shrugging as he looked away

"see bro, you gotta figure whatever this is with her" Ava patted him in the shoulder "and yeah I am coming" she knew there's no way Regina was gonna miss this party

"so are you sure you wanna be timothee chalamet?" Jonathan asked

"i don't know, Davidson. are we already in costume and makeup and standing in the fucking party?" Ava snarled back

"that's true" Jonathan sipped on his beer as the two were huddled in the corner

"it feels a bit weird without Darcy you know? she would've been on the dance floor going crazy"

"there is no dance floor here"

"she would've created one"

"true"

right then, Ava saw her. Ava saw Regina George in an angel costume and for a hot minute she forgot how to breathe

"wow" jonathan looked at her "i knew you like her. I didn't know she had that effect on you" he connected her gaped jaw with his index finger

"she has that effect on anyone" Ava gulped her beer

"go talk to her" Jonathan ushered her when she was talking to Aaron

"what? no, are you crazy?" she shook her head "I am just her tutor"

"then talk about chemistry, go" he gave her a little push to the direction where the two were speaking

"no" deep down she actually did want to talk and took a deep breath

she knew Aaron, maybe he could break some ice between there as she downed the rest of the drink walking towards them regina used her arm to hold Aaron's jaw and pulled him in for a kiss

"what the fuck?" Ava's heart dropped at the sight when Jonathan approached her from behind

"you wanna go home?" he asked putting his hand over Ava's shoulder

"huh?" she snapped out of the trance "uh no. why would I wanna go home,? we're at a party" she nodded rapidly "let's party"

the next few hours were to put it simply, wild. Ava was already a lightweight and Jonathan was trying to keep her in check after a while she somehow managed to get him drunk too

she was so intoxicated that she ket it go and and actually smoked. it was bad for her she knew but it was just cheap weed, right?

the two danced on tabletops, social anxiety? what's that? everybody at the party thought the two studied too much that they went crazy

this continued until they were kicked outside the house by the host. Jonathan who was slightly sober now, called a cab

"take me home" Ava slurred her words before her body fell onto Jonathan's as the latter caught her in his arms

"we're in the cab, aren't we?" Jonathan assured her

after a while, the cab stopped as Jonathan helped her out, making her stand on her two feet again

"this isn't my house" Ava shook her head "it's a fucking mansion"
