During that week, I got a surprising call from none other than Mona! Wasn't it too late for her to be calling now? I thought I blocked her. I tried my best not to pick up the phone, but a part of me wanted to know how's she been doing. Come to think of it, I kind of miss having her as a friend. I mean, we had a lot of fun times together, so I just had to answer.
"Hello?"
"Uh, hey Maya," Mona stuttered as her voice shook, "long time no see. I really want to know why you stopped talking to me."
"Mona," I sighed, "You dated the guy I liked. You basically broke at least 5 rules of the girl code."
"You mean William?" Mona exclaimed, "You have liked him since the 7th grade. I thought you grew out of it."
"Well, I didn't grow out of it until you guys started dating," I replied.
"I'm sorry," Mona apologized, "I didn't know that you liked him for that that long."
I forgave her only because I don't like worrying about the past.
After Mona hung up, I kept questioning "she was apologizing now? After all these months, she finally remembers me?" More and more questions ran through my head.
