MONDAY mornings couldn't be worse as her head pounded, lack of sleep evident within the dark circles beneath her half-lidded eyes as she laid her head on her desk, dark brown hair sprawled out over her shoulders.

“Ms. Seong, my classroom is not a nap room.” Her teacher called out, teaching stick banging against the chalkboard as she jumped up in surprise at the noise, bowing her head in embarrassment.

Her gaze shifted to her right, catching the concerned face of Lee Heeseung, who mouthed an “are you okay?”, as she nodded quietly, in a daze as she attempted to bring herself out of her train of thought and sleepiness to focus on the lesson.

Shortly after class was dismissed, the screeching of chairs filled the room as students pushed themselves out of their seats, packing up their things before finding themselves wandering off into the crowded hallway.

All whilst, Seong Haewon’s movements seemed to be a bit drowsy. Slow and lazy as she packed up her school books into her backpack, fingers reaching up to gently push her bangs out of her eyes.

All whilst Lee Heeseung was up and ready — his backpack swung over his shoulder as he stood with his lips pressed into a thin line.

“Haewon,” Heeseung called out, catching her attention as she paused momentarily, looking up to meet his gaze before looking back down as she resumed what she was doing, zipping her bag up.

“Did you get any sleep at all last night?” He huffed, brows furrowed tightly as his lips were tucked into a frown.

Haewon grumbled quietly under her breath as she shook her head, slipping her arms through the straps of her backpack as she straightened her posture out.

“No, not really.” She admitted truthfully, adjusting her blazer before she carried herself to walk slowly beside him, trailing behind what was left of their classmates as they entered the busy school halls.

“Did something happen?”

“Argued with my dad when I got home last night. He was waiting for me in the living room, I guess.” She replied in a sigh, as Heeseung hummed and nodded slowly as he processed her words in his head.
