"you look so tired, unhappy."
_______________________ONE week followed, and it appeared her father finally decided to return home in a timely manner as for the past seven nights, arguments held within the house late at night kept Seong Haewon awake - the lack of sleep she was getting caused her to fall asleep in class and get in trouble with the teachers.
"Again?" Heeseung questioned as she sat across from him at the picnic table. He tapped his pencil rhythmically against his notebook page, concern etched on his features as he stared at her.
"Mhm." Haewon hummed in response, shrugging her backpack off of her shoulders as she set it down on the bench next to her, propping her elbow up on the wooden tabletop.
"Sorry." Heeseung uttered, feeling remorse for the girl as he turned his head, tilting his chin down as he reached to grab something from the side pocket on his backpack. "I came prepared just in case, at least."
He said, his hand wrapping around a bottle as he pushed it towards the girl, giving her a beckoning nod. "I got you this from the vending machine." He said, as she skimmed over at the bottle curiously.
"It's a random sweet tea. I've never tried it, but it has caffeine in it so.. I thought it'd help." Heeseung explained, straightening out his posture as he watched her nod in response.
"Thank you." Haewon chuckled quietly, grateful eyes meeting his worried ones before flickering down to the tea bottle he had purchased on her behalf.
"Shall I do a taste test?" She asked, raising a brow as the boy nodded in response.
Unscrewing the cap, she set it down beside the bottle before picking it up and bringing it to her lips, taking a small sip from the drink.
"Just to clarify, you should not rely on caffeine to keep you awake because it's not good for you. Please, rest whenever you can. A nap or not, you need proper rest." He rambled on, bottom lip tucked between his teeth as she nodded, setting the bottle down and putting the cap back on.
"I know, I know. I will." Haewon waved it off, brushing it off as she shook her head, fingers cascading through her hair.
"I have work after school. But, I'll try to go to bed early once I get home so I can at least hopefully get in a couple of hours." The girl added on with a small nod, as Heeseung pressed his lips into a thin line.
