A month passed, Alex and I were friends, grandpa got to finish his DND game—spoilers:I won— and I finally got used to this dull town. When I went to pick up the mail I got a message specifically for me. I put the rest of the mail down on the kitchen table, went to my room and opened the message."dear Ann, this is the middle-way hospital informing you that your father had a successful heart-transplant and survived. You will be able to go back home now." She smiled widely, he was ok. She ran out of her room excited "grandma! Grandpa! He's ok! Father's ok!!" Grandma smiled "good for you dear" she said and grandpa playfully punched me. "I knew your father would make it through." I ran outside to go tell Alex but he was..gone..she walked over to his house and knocked on the door. His mother answered. "Hello. I'm Ann. A friend of Alex. Do you know where he is?" I said, his mother sighed "He volunteered to do a heart transplant for a young man named Leo Hampton." She said, my heart sunk as a realized what happened.."w-wh-what?"
