"Oh, Mr. Malfoy, stop making such a fuss. You can go." Madam Pomfrey scolds as she passes him. She pushes through the crowd around Harry's bed. "Should have been brought straight to me. I can mend bones in a heartbeat, but growing them back?" She scoffs.
"You will be able to, won't you?" Harry asks desperately.
"Of course she can!" Artemis exclaims.
"Thank you, dear." She says, patting her arm. She turns to Harry. "It will be painful. You'll have to stay the night." She sets a pair of pajamas on the bed and the girls leave, drawing the curtains.
"How can you stick up for Lockhart now, Hermione, eh? If Harry had wanted de-boning he would have asked." Ron calls as he helps Harry get dressed.
"Anyone can make a mistake." She defends. Artemis scoffs and rolls her eyes. "And it doesn't hurt any more, does it, Harry?"
"You can't be serious!" Artemis exclaims.
"No, but it doesn't do anything else, either." Harry tells her as he sits on the bed. The three rejoin Harry, Madam Pomfrey holding a bottle.
"You're in for a rough night, Potter." She says as she pours the potion into a glass for him. She hands it to him. "Regrowing bones is a nasty business."
Harry takes a drink of the potion, immediately spitting it out. Artemis glares at him as the potion drips down her face. She had been standing closest to him, so most of it had sprayed all over her.
"What did you expect, pumpkin juice?" Madam Pomfrey tells him, refilling the glass and handing Artemis a rag to wipe her face. Once she's seen him drink the potion she leaves them alone.
"We won." Ron tells him. "That was some catch you made. Malfoy's face...he looked ready to kill!"
"I want to know how he fixed that Bludger." Hermione says. Artemis nods in agreement.
"Oh, I'll get the information out of him." She threatens, glaring at the bed Malfoy had just left.
"Or, we can add that to the list of questions we'll ask him when we've taken the Polyjuice Potion." Harry suggests. She sighs but agrees. "I hope it tastes better than this stuff."
"If it's got bits of Slytherins in it? You've got to be joking." Ron scoffs.
Before Artemis can scold her brother, the rest of the Gryffindor team enters the Hospital Wing. They join them around Harry's bed.
"Unbelievable flying, Harry. I've just seen Marcus Flint yelling at Malfoy. Something about having the Snitch on top of his head and not noticing. Malfoy didn't seem too happy." George tells him.
The others set down the drinks and snacks they'd brought, settling in to celebrate their win. Before they can celebrate too much, Madam Pomfrey storms over, glaring at them.
"This boy needs rest, he's got thirty three bones to regrow! Out!" She exclaims, shooing them towards the door.
"Madam Pomfrey, can I stay? I can help you keep an eye on Harry as his bones regrow." Artemis asks. She sighs, softening as she remembers her father's trips to the Hospital Wing. She pulls her back through the door before closing it on the others.
"All right. You can stay until curfew. Why don't you change out of those robes and come back." She replies. Artemis smiles and thanks her.
"I'll be right back!" She calls to Harry before rushing out of the room. She reaches the common room and heads straight to her dorm, changing out of her robes and running over to the boy's dormitory. She finds the sweater she'd knitted Harry last year and Romulus lifts his head, watching her from his spot on Harry's bed. "Traitor." She whispers, glaring at him. He simply purrs and goes back to sleep.
