Y/N's POV-

As I went through my morning routine, preparing to head to the office, a nagging thought lingered in the back of my mind. It had been two nights since Taehyung hadn't slept in my room, or rather, his room, as he had pointedly clarified.

I found myself pondering over the absence of his presence. Not that I desired his company during the night, but the sudden change in our living arrangements left me somewhat unsettled.

Shaking off the nagging thoughts, I made my way downstairs to the dining area, I noticed Taehyung already seated, calmly enjoying his breakfast. Our eyes met briefly, triggering a faint recollection of yesterday's unexpected kiss on the cheek. I quickly averted my gaze, feeling a flush of embarrassment rise to my cheeks as I sensed his subtle smirk.

I silently took my seat and began eating, the tension between us palpable despite the serene atmosphere of the room. Once we finished our breakfast, I assumed we would proceed to the office together as usual. However, Taehyung had other plans.

As I prepared to accompany him, he abruptly halted me with a pointed question, "Who told you that you are going to the office with me?" Furrowing my brows in confusion, I waited for him to elaborate.

"Our contract states that no one should know about you being my wife," he continued, his tone firm and unwavering. Feeling a surge of frustration, I couldn't help but retort, "Then what am I supposed to do? Take a bus? I don't even have my car here, nor do I have my phone to call a cab. How am I supposed to reach the office then?"

Taehyung's response was characteristic of his unyielding demeanour, "Your husband is a rich man. Be grateful. You can take my other car. But a driver and a bodyguard will accompany you." I bit my inner cheek to stifle my irritation before conceding with reluctance, "Okay."

With that settled, we made our way to Kim Industries, the tension between us lingering like an unspoken truth hanging in the air.

As I stepped into Kim Industries, I made my way directly to Mr. Jin's cabin. As soon as I entered, Mr. Jin approached me with a concerned expression etched on his face.

"Ms. Y/N, I heard you submitted your resignation letter a couple of days ago," he began, his tone reflecting his worry.

"Yes, I did," I confirmed, nodding. "But I've had a change of heart."

Relief washed over Mr. Jin's features as he responded, "So you're not leaving the company, then?"

"No, I won't be," I replied, though inwardly acknowledging that I didn't have much of a choice in the matter.

"Thank goodness," Mr. Jin sighed, his relief palpable. "I was afraid we were going to lose such a talented employee. You were absent from the office for two days, and we were concerned you wouldn't return. Jihoon was particularly upset about it. He was practically in tears."

I couldn't help but chuckle at the exaggerated reaction. "Well, I'm here now," I reassured him with a smile.

Mr. Jin smiled warmly at my reassurance. "That's all that matters. We're glad to have you back, Ms. Y/N."

I returned his smile gratefully. "Thank you, Mr. Jin. I'm glad to be back."

He nodded, then glanced at the clock on his desk. "Well, it's good to see you're settled. I have a meeting to attend now, but I'll catch up with you later, alright?"

"Of course, Mr. Jin," I replied, giving him a respectful nod as he made his way out of the office.

Left alone in Mr. Jin's cabin, I took a moment to gather my thoughts. Despite the unexpected turn of events in my personal life, it felt good to be back at work, surrounded by familiar faces and tasks. But the weight of my situation with Taehyung still hung heavy on my mind, overshadowing the sense of normalcy.
