Mirai Yosuko

You can always rewrite reality and make your own dad love you. But fake love, you hated it.
Hating was the only thing you could feel in this messed up world you lived in. You hated the maids who ignored you, you hated your school works, you hated how everyone is always selfish. You hated your mom as well. You dont miss her. Why miss someone who wasn't even part of your life. Hating was the only thing you learned growing up because there was no parent to guide you.

But meeting Mirai changed your perspective on how you see the world. She was the first person you always liked. Your favourite maid who teached you good manners, good decision in life which you are still learning.  She gives you knowledge about how to survive the world. She was so naïve and you hated naïve people. Except your maid, your only loved one, your mother

Going home late than usual, Mirai noticed it but didn't question you, she wont force you to say your secrets to her because she respects you. As a mother, she will trust her children, even if both of you are not blood related. She will fight anyone who dares to take away her boy

You wouldn't tell Mirai about Dazai. She might get a heart attack. You wouldn't tell how you had a date with him every night, a date where he'd just talk about himself again and again. You wouldn't tell how he knows everything about you. You also wouldn't tell how it's already been a year

Both of you are finally sixteen years old. It was a year of constant teasing from him, a year of getting to know him. Even though his stories are half truth. You actually liked his company, but you wouldn't consider your relationship as friends

You are just his hostage held at gun point

Back to Mirai, who was off to buy groceries from a nearby store. You asked her that the other maids just took care of those, but she declined and went on her way before you could stop her

That was five hours ago. You tapped your feet in distress and decided you'll go and fetch her

Walking in a dark street, you walked to the store where she would usually buy groceries. You stopped walking and shivered when the cold air hit your body

"So cold, I should have worn a jacket," you said and blow warm air to warm your hands and continued on your way

Your eyes widened in fear when you saw the store state's, It was destroyed in gunshot. Panicking you called the police

"Hello police! The Alfey store here had been destroyed!" You couldn't hear the police reply and entered the ruined building hoping to see someone alive and well

But there was no body inside, not even one

"Please! Come quickly! the street name is Naka ward! Please hurry. " You didn't hear the police reply because you panicked in fear your ears started to ring

Your knees went weak,  you feel heart beat quickened. You hadn't felt fear in a long time.You heard the loud sirens of the police car, and then you passed out from a panick attack. You tried to fight but failed miserably

First, the first time in 14 years you had a dream, a dream about Mirai

'Y/N im always here to support you!' The Mirai in your dreams said while patting your head

Mirai was the most warmest person you had in your life. Your maid was the most kindest, and most dearest to you

She didn't deserve what happened to her

You woke up with a gasp and looked around your room, a hospital looking room. You tried to get up but stopped when a woman greeted you

"Oh, you are awake, that's good." You glared at her you werent scared because you can read her

With enough information, you calmed down. You are in your dads work building, Yosano was her name she works here. Now you want to ask her the most important question

"The store, what happened?" You said with a dull tone, and she took a seat on the stool near you

"Didn't even ask for my name?" You shook your head and looked at her in the eyes

"I already know who you are, I have already read you." You saw her eyes widen in amusement

"Really, presidents son is just amazing. And no, I dont have any information about that case. " You gripped the sheet tightly, and you stood up from your bed

"Wa-wait, where are you-" You ran away from the room and slammed the door

The other workers from ADA looked at you and saw your frustrated face

They're shocked to see you entered  Fukuzawa's office and slammed the door harshly

You saw your dad only looked at you with the same face you always hated, the same expression he always wore when he saw you

"Mirai! Find Mirai! Do something. This is all I asked for. " You cringed when your voice broke, and tears trailed down your cheek. You heard Fukuzawa take a deep breath and take a minute before answering you for the first time in many years

"Mirai and the others were found dead." Your world stopped spinning

"Wha..." Your vision got blurry. You felt sick

"You were late when you showed up, Mirai and the other victims were held hostage and were burned alive. Nothing was left." You clenched your fist in anger

"What the fuck did the police even do!" You screamed and you flinched when Fukuzawa slammed his hand in his table and stood up

"Questioning stops here, go home!" He screamed at you and that was your last straw

You grab a nearby object and throwed it at him whiich he easily dogde

"Mirai! Mirai's important to me! She-" you cut yourself off with a sob and cried uncontrollably

You didn't noticed Ranpo was behind you looking at the scene

"She was the mother I never had! She was there when you didn't fucking stayed, she was there when I felt alone I-" You took a deepbreath and sob again and again you didn't even realize Fukuzawa had already left the room

You felt someone warm hug you, it was Ranpo you didn't hug him back you fell on your knees and cried so hard

Your ability is useless you couldn't even save your mother your beloved mother

You passed out from crying, you woke up in your room. You felt weak to cry again, you felt weak to do anything. The other maids knocked on your door forcing you to atleast even eat and take a bath, you ignored them

You grab your phone to find something to distarct yourself from a harsh reality. But your heart stopped when you saw a message from Mirai, It was from yesterday. You pressed her contact, and you had read

"Dear Y/N

My one and only son, I want you to know that you are loved, you are wanted, you are seen.

Sincerely, Mirai Yosuko"

You sob again using your other hand to cover your mouth. You throw away the phone across the room, and the thoughts come back again

'Im so weak, Mirai, I'm m so sorry, If I wasn't lazy that day, If I remember to rewrite your fate, If only....' Those what ifs, you remember her promise, and it's not her fault she didn't keep it

It was her fate, her destiny, you were too late to rewrite it. Everything just happened so fast. you didn't even realize her death was near
