☆End of trip☆

Third person pov-
(Time skip)
Lapis, peridot, and everyone else are packing up to leave the beach and go back home since school starts in 3 days.

Lapis's pov:

"Hey Peri, ya ready?" I said, smiling and looking at Peridot, who was just now zipping her suit case closed. "Yup!" Peridot said while grabbing her phone and putting it in her back pocket.

*KNOCK KNOCK*

"Who is it?" Peridot said as we both looked at the door to the room. "It's garnet, are yall ready? We gotta load up the car!" As Garnet finished talking, me and Peridot walked out the door. "Yup," we said in unison. Garnet then chuckled and waved us to come follow her, so we did.

*another time skip or else ot would've been boring prob-*

Peridots pov:

I put me and Lapis's stuff in the back, along with everyone else's, since they were busy fighting for what seat they wanted in the car. As I closed the trunk, I went inside and garnet was in the backseat next to the left window, pearl was driving, and amethyst was in the passenger seat, since she called "shotgun" earlier.

I sat next to lapis, of course, and then Pearl started the car, and we hit the road.

Lapis's pov:

I watched Peridot sit next to me and out her seat belt on, as I looked at her and smiled. I loved everything about her..her personality, her laugh, her goofy little smile, I couldn't imagine a life without her.. Peridot eventually saw me staring at her, and then she spoke.

"Ya, okay, lappy?" She said in a soft, concerning voice. "Yeah, I'm fine.. just adoring your cute little face~.." I said, smirking at her. (I swear I saw her blush a little too..) Then she giggled.. how I loved her little laugh.. "I love you, peri.." I whispered to her. "I love you too.." she said to me.

* Time skip, 3 hours later.*

Half of the drive was just silent, and the other half was loud ass music or laughing at stupid shit. "Are you ready to start our classes on Monday, peri??" I said, holding her hand as we walked back to our dorms, carrying our stuff.
"Yup, I'm a little worried to see who's in my class, but I really hope I get a lot with you~" I then giggled at her statement. "Me too, peridot~"

After we had small talk, we arrived at our dorm room and looked for the keys. "I have them here, ya dummy -" Peridot said teasingly. I scoffed with a smile and watched her unlock the door.

As the door opens, we both walk in. I take a look around the room. It looks just the same as it was when we left. I watched Peridot set her suitcase on the ground and put all her clothes in a little basket, and noticed she was holding something. "Whatcha got there, peri?" I said, tilting my head slightly, trying to see over her shoulder. "This!" She said as she turned around and held her hands out in front of me. I looked into her hands and saw some pretty sea shells. "I grabbed some of theese to give to you!!" She said, with that same little goofy smile.

"Aww, Peridot! They are so cool looking!" I said, smiling as I hugged her. I pulled away from the hug so I could take the sea shells, and I put them on my desk in a neat way. "I love them!" I said, smiling.

Peridots pov:

I smiled as l looked at the shells set on her desk, then I looked at the time. It was 9:34, and the sun was down. "Hey, lappy, I think im gonna start a better sleep schedule starting today since school is pretty soon, so imma head to bed.." I said, looking at her. "Oh, okay! Me too!!" Lapis said with a weak smile. "Are ya sure? You seem upset about it?.." I said with a look of concern on my face. "Nonono, it's okay!" Lapis said, looking me in the eyes. "Okay.." I said, sounding slightly unsure.

As I went in the bathroom, I brushed my teeth, and as I spit out my water, I looked up and stared at me in the mirror. I stared at my features and thought in my mind. *fuck.. I'm ugly.. how does lapis love me?..* I stood there, staring at myself, in silence. The only thing I heard was the faucet, and my mind.

Then I suddenly jumped when I heard a knock at the bathroom door. "You alright, peridot?" I heard lapis say, with concern in her voice. "Y-yeah.. I'm alright." I said, as I opened the bathroom door. "You sure?.." Lapis said."Yup," I said, looking at her.

I walked to my bed and laid down on my stomach on my phone, setting my new alarms for the mornings. I saw lapis climb up into her bunk. "Good night, peri~.." Lapis said. "Night lappy!" I said in a happy voice. But I wasn't happy.. I was fucked up.

Lapis's pov:

I knew she wasn't okay, I could tell by how she was acting. But why won't she tell me the truth?... especially now that we are in a relationship, shouldn't she tell me what's going on in her life?..

The rest of the night, I was trapped within my thoughts about Peridot until I fell asleep.

Peridots pov:

After I set my alarms. I ended up not going to sleep, and I grabbed my headphones and played music as I stared at the roof of the bunkbed, thinking about a lot of shit.

*how am I loved? How do I love? Do I show it right? Do I do it right? What did I do wrong? I'm hated by everyone, and they don't even know me. They think I'm "werid as fuck" or I'm a cringe nerd or some thing. But I'm not..*

My thoughts went on. Then, next, I knew I felt hot tears roll down my cheeks. *Why do you feel like this? Why are you sad? Why are you so fucking depressed? Just get over yourself, peridot..* a faint voice said in my mind. "peri?.. you alright?-..." I suddenly looked up, with my eyes wide, as I quickly wiped away my tears aggressively and stayed silent.

Lapis's pov:

I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night for some reason, and I heard a faint noise of sniffles. I knew it was Peridot, I knew something was up. "peri?.. you alright?-..." I heard nothing but silence, and slight movement.

I waited for a few seconds, but still no answer. So I decided to go down there and check on her. As I climbed down the steps of the bunk, I looked at Peridot, who was lying in her bed, curled up in a ball crying, facing the wall. "Peri.." I said as I reached my hand out to her to see if she would react to my touch. Instead, she curled in tighter to her little ball, which shattered me inside.

I didn't think twice, so I just crawled under the covers with Peridot and hugged her tightly. After I hugged her, she cried even more. "shhh... it's okay, I don't really know what's wrong, but whatever it is... just know I'm here for you.. to listen, to comfort, and to help.. I love you, peri, and I'll let absolutely nobody hurt you, and I promise you.."

"You will never be walking alone on this earth, ever.. no matter how hard things get, I'll always be here for you."
I said in a very soothing voice, and I kissed her on the forehead.

Peridots pov:

"You will never be walking alone on this earth, ever.. no matter how hard things get, I'll always be here for you."

those few words were the best thing to hear, I couldn't help but cry more at it. I tuned around and hugged lapis tightly as I cried into her chest silently. "i love you, lapis.." I said, still hugging her. "I love you to peridot..."
