"WHERE IS SHE?" Audrey spoke to herself as she looked every which way for her blonde co-captain but she couldn't find her anywhere. Turning to the rest of the team she asked, "have any of you seen Claire?" All of them shook their heads saying responses Audrey didn't care for or wanna hear.
All except for one.
"I saw her walking towards the Change room."
"Why would she-never mind," as Audrey turned to go drag Claire out of their change room, she looked back, "it's good to know that at least one of you aren't completely useless when I need you."
When she finally made into building, Audrey called, "Claire! Where are you?"
First the brunette heard a sniffle and then the words that followed: "I'm over here."
"What are you doing in here, the games about to start." Audrey followed the voice to the back corner of the large room.
When she saw Claire she found her curled up on the floor shaking with her head in her hands.
"Claire? The games about to start." When she did look up Audrey knew something was wrong. Even if they weren't talking to each other — well she wasn't talking to Claire, Claire had been trying all day to talk to her — and something was truly off with one of them, they'd put their silly fight aside. "What's wrong?"
"Claire?" Audrey made her way towards the blonde on the floor. She was gonna call her name again but Claire beat her to it.
"Ben broke up with me," Claire finally spoke up quietly into her hands but from where Audrey was all show could hear were mumbled words.
"Ben did what?"
Claire looked up at Audrey as she repeated her words as more tears fell from her eyes. "He broke up with me."
"He what!" Audrey could swear she's never felt so shocked before, especially about something she never expected to hear. "But that boy is crazy about you, how could he-"
"Not anymore," She cut her friend off before she could say something that clearly wasn't true.
"Yes he is!" Audrey spoke so loudly to get her point across that it spook Claire. "Ben spent the whole night in our room and got you roses for the heck of it. That boy is the definition of love when it comes to you. You're perfect for each other."
